First off, these doctors are definitely funny money, they have 5 offices 2 DO's, 3-4 PA's running around from location to location & thousands of patients. If you asked me, the math just doesn't add up! Let me start with the office from hell, the bottom of the bottom. 86th street is the office with the most patients, the worst front desk staff, the nastiest PA (Karen) & the DO's that are only present in spirit. You get there at 9am sharp, you're greeted by "sign your name on the sheet & your copay is 30 dollars" 2 hours later the MA calls you in for vitals & then escorts you to a room, 45 minutes later the MA returns with gadgets I've never seen before to check my ears & breathing, 45 minutes later the PA finally arrives, spends 2seconds listening to my chest 3minutes looking at a computer screen before she gets up & walks off. I guess I got lucky the second time with the front desk, a young lady named D actually greeted me "good morning" before requesting my signature & copay, actually asked me to have a seat, the MA comes out about an hour later, I think her name was Karen, no not the PA, takes my vitals & escorts me to a room, PA R greets me by "good morning, my name is R ________, I'm a physician assistant & will be seeing you today" she was tentative & thorough actually explained what would happen during the visit before leaving the room, 5 minutes later E comes in asked if anyone had seen me yet, before I knew it the visit was over I was in & out no aggravations point blank! Btw during my visit I asked to see my PCP Dr. Marciano, D tells me "he isn't here but you will be seeing one of the PAs, I chatted with some patients check out what one of the three I engaged in a conversation with tells me, "dr. Marciano, I think he's a ghyost, he's never here, I've never seen him in the 2 years I've been a patient here, I've been through 4 different PAs 3 have quit & Karen is only good on a rainy day" the other said "dr Marciano only sees patients with good insurances at his 79 st office" and lastly the most shocking "they have 5 offices, I've seen dr muraca once, he's the only reason I keep coming back because I'm hoping I get lucky again" if youi asked me, there's just something here that doesn't belong, how do juggle 5 offices & thousands of patients in a year, are insurances aware that their patients never see the pcp whom they have chosen & pay services for? How can these insurances be informed about these wrongful acts & if they are informed why isn't anyone doing anything?? Come on people there's a scam here! I have since changed to Another doctor & advise no warn people not to go there!!! They are making money at the patients cost, I've also learned that they've opened a new office on 76, I hear they actually have a doctor working but ancillary staff is still horrible, don't get me wrong, PAs are trained professionals they are not stupid but I should be able to see my pcp at least every other visit, & as my last note, the extensive testing is unnecessary & eventually comes back to your mail box as a bill

I have been a patient at Woodhaven Medical Center for over 25 years and i have never experienced anything of what "hector has said" The staff are hardworking dedicated workers who try there best to accomodate patients.I usually see Dr Marciano at both the 86 st and 79 st location . I have seen Dr Muraca as well as their physician assistants. Through out the years i have been saved three times two times in catching cancer before it started growing because test were run to check my breathing yes lung cancer picked up by a breathing test and also a growth on my back picked up by Dr. Marciano. I understand if hector is frustrated but he has to look at what medicine has done to family practice. He calls Dr marciano by pcp.a dr who is picked randomly by a computer program based on zip codes. The system has created a logjam for seeing family doctors and drs handpick patients based on their comorbidities and severity of illnesses .Physician assistants and nurse practitioners will be seeing most of patients in the near future under the supervision of a doctor and a doctor will be seeing only the real sick and complicated cases. Physician assistants at the office are always communicating with the drs and handle patients with the utmost respect .I have never experienced what "hector has said"

Hector has an opportunity to be positive about the pa s that "he saw" But spins it that the pas cant see patients. I have also seen the other drs in the practice during the past year Dr jacobs and Dr lawrence and now Dr bejarano they are all great family doctors so stop saying rip off because its you who is disgruntled and do not understand the complexities of having a rare family practice office in the queens area. They are always there 25 years with me and god willing another 25 years. And your provider may be a pa or a nurse practioner in the future but you cannever lose the respect and wisdom that my family doctors give to me.God bless Woodhaven Medical Center because its not easy trying to take care of an under priveledged urban area.
