Woodlands Of Cresthill Laramar Group Fictious Charges to keep Security Deposit rip-off scam liars deceptive company dirty ripoff dogs dirty ripoff liars dirty SOB's dirty ripoff liars dirty ripoff dogs deceptive company dead beat only cares about himself Dad dead Beat inconsiderate Mom corruption dead Beat inconsiderate Mom dead beat only cares about himself Dad deceptive company Cresthill Illinois .....

I lived in the Woodlands for 2 years. I moved, after leaving a forwarding address, and I did not hear from the Woodlands until I called several times to inquire on the refund of my security deposit.

I was reassured more than 5 times that I would receive my deposit back. Two months after moving I received a bill for $404 for carpet replacement. The problem with that is a took pictures of the carpet and the carpet and apartment was spotless.

I have been dealing with this for almost for years now, and the apartment complex has since put this bill in collections, kept my $470 deposit and refuses to review the documents and pictures that I have to show that they are swindling me.

I have contacted the corporate office, whom had a local rep call me to tell me to call the collection agency if I would like to discuss why they kept my security deposit and charged me $404. I was also sent a security deposit disposition this week dated Jan of 1999 to state the charges were for general cleaning and carpet repair, contrary to the first bill I received.

I am so frustrated with this company that I feel like crying and I am a single parent and I would like to spend my money sending my son to Baptist Academy and Summer Camp rather than fighting a company in court whose pockets are 100 times deeper than mine.

This same thing happened to me. I called them a couple of time and they said they would send me a check. I never got a check, and I never got a list of charges. My security deposit was only $100 so I didn't figure it was worth arguing over.

Apparently, they kept my security deposit for carpet cleaning, and charged me an additional $200 for cleaning. They never sent me any notification. They just turned it over to a collection agency. The Collection Agency - Pierce, Hamilton, & Stern - never sent me any notification of the charges either. They just reported it to the credit bureaus

I didnt even realize I had been charged anything until a year later when I applied for a home loan and the mortgage company did a credit check.

When I learned this I tried to contact the collection agency, but the refused to budge on the issue. They stated "Pay us the money or deal with it for 10 years." (Reality is it will only be 7 years). I filled complaints with the BBB. The next week I received my first collection notice from Pierce, Hamilton, & Stern. Also, I asked for verifications from each credit bureau. The bureau did nothing but send a letter asking the collection agency to submit a copy of the charges.

The bank wouldn't finance me until this account was paid, and instead of losing a customer the mortgage company that was selling my home loan paid the $200 charge.
