Complaint Review: Wordsmart

I purchased a SAT prep program in September 2004 for my daughter. All information provided by the sales representative and the website portray the product to be a "single" product purchase.

Two months later I discover unauthorized monthly charges on my credit card along with a CD arriving in the mail for an "ongoing program". Unfortunately the first CD escaped my attention.

Nothing in the sales presentation or the website information suggested an "ongoing program". When I called the company to complain they claimed the explanation was in the paperwork sent to me with my original purchase.

Also, they refused to allow the unopened merchandise to be returned for a refund. Supposedly they cancelled my account. We'll see next month and I'll post a follow up.
