EDitor's UPDATED info 2-20-04: Rip-off Report is still receiving complaints that they are not receiving the refunds as promised. Rip-off Report has been in contact with the Company and has made them aware of these issues. They have assured us that refunds are being given to those who are providing them with all the correct contact information requested by them. They have also provided confirmation/proof of over 2,600 refunds to date, on a spreadsheet, and Rip-off Report staff called and verified more than a dozen consumers at random, all very angry & outraged, but, they all did get their refund. The company again apologized for the delay and reported that credit to your account could take as long as 4-5 days. As we understand it, this company only does the processing for all the other companies, so they are at the mercy of those companies funds, further delaying your refund.

Rip-off Report is hoping they will live up to what they have promised, we think they will, ..we'll see. Rip-off Report will continue to investigate more into this situation, and we will eventually post an UPDATE to the main Report at this web address: https://www.ripoffreport.com/view.asp?id=76605

Please be patient, we can only tell you what they are telling us.

CLICK HERE to see how World Benefits contacted Rip-off Report, stating they will give REFUNDS to unsatisfied customers.

I was contacted via telephone by World Benefits to sign up for an unsecured credit card with a worth of $2,000 and the chance for my limit to increase within six months. To sign up for the card would cost $299.00 At first I was weary, but they gave me a contact number, 1-866-270-7076, and name, Mike, to call back in case I changed my mind.
A few days later I was in a tight pinch for money and called the number back. I was gave them my banking information, setup a withdrawal date for Jan 9, 2004, and was told I would get my package in 15 days via FedEx, then to call back to activate my card.
Well...15 days went by. I called the number back and was told "due to high volume, package deliveries had been delayed by 1 week". I did not receive my pacakge until Feb 17, 2004. I opened my benefits package to look for the unsecrued credit card so that I could activate it. I did not find it. However, I did find a card to spend money on useless merchandise where I still had to pay shipping and handling, a pre-loaded card that is the same as a bank debit\check card, and a bunch of other stuff that was of no use to me.
I called the number back and asked about the unsecured credit card. I was told that would get shipped out a week later, I would have to fill out the application, and turn it back in to get the card. So I waited a week to get the card in the mail. Guess what I have not recieved my card. I called the number back after two weeks of waiting, and to find out how to get my refund, and to my suprise, the number is no longer in service. I tried to go to their website, and guess what, it was no longer available.
I followed the directions to send the package back for a refund. When I sent back my package, I sent a letter stating I was uphappy with what they offered and the benefits package materials and the case. Someone at the location signed for the package because when I tracked it, it came up with a signature on the proof of delivery. I have recieved no phone calls or letters stating when I am to recieve my refund
I don't know what else to do since the phone numbers I have are no longer working and the website has dissappeared.
