Was contacted in August by one Jim Mitchell, offering a Visa credit card for which there was a one-time processing and set-up charge of $299. Money was taken out of my savings account. Card did not come, I wrote a letter, no response. I then contacted Rip Off Reports.

Received phone call the next day 1-29-04 from a Scott Richardson. Sister took the call, I was not home. When I got home, I called and got customer service and spoke with a gentleman, who after much heated discussion, told me there would be no refund. He basically called me a liar when I told him that I never received any form or CD-Rom that he said was in the packet. He then hung up on me. I called back 10 min. later. Got the same man but he identified himself as someone else. (Brian Richards.) Suspecting that it was the same person I had talked to previously, I again told him of the problem.

He excused himself and came back again on the phone and told me that he, indeed was the person that I had spoken to before, and no refund. He then gave the phone to a female who (identified herself as Rachel O'Brian, & told me that she could give me a refund but she wasn't going to do so because she didn't like my attitude. All the time, I am hearing rude comments and laughing and snickering in the background. She said that indeed the male that took the call was the same as the one I had talked to previously but he lied about himself because he wanted to hear what I said.

I informed her that I was going to call the FCC & the FTC. I also told her that I was recording the call because of the nature of this complaint. She got very angry and told me many times that "I do authorize you to record this conversation." I asked her why, if what they were doing was legal, then she had nothing to worry about. She repeated the statement again. At first she tried to talk me out of it. Then she told me that she didn't care if I did call them (that she could cover her tracks very well) and she then hung up on me. I did call the FCC and the FTC and they are sending papers to fill out.

Also am trying to get in touch with the N.Y. States Attorney General's office. I have tried to access them online but the address that they gave me is not a valid E-Mail address. I have also contacted the local media and will braoadcast the interview on T.V. in the next few days. I have also made a police report. I have also contacted the local newspaper and they will print in a couple of days.

Having filed a ripoff report on 1/28/04, I then E-Mailed world benefits. The next day received a call from Scott Richardson. No progress at that time. E_Mailed again that day, no response, E-Mailed again the next day and Mr. Richardson called. He wanted more information and I sent it to him and he again called.A lot of company deniel and trying to lay blame on me and I wouldn't concede to any blame. I told him that I had recorded all conversations, had called the FTC and the FCC, the Attoraney General, made a police report. I also informed him that I had contacted the T.V. stations and had it put on the news. I also told him that I had run an add in the local newspaper. I also told him that I was filing a claim in district court. He hung up with no resolution. I think he was checking to see if I had, indeed done these things, (which I had) He called me back on February 5, 2004. He told me that he was going to send a refund of $269.99. The original request for $299 was not being sent because of "paper work and processing" because I was not going to pay for his mistakes and I informed him that I was not paying for any processing and that if the full amount of $299 was not refunded, I would continue with legal means. After much heated discussion, he finally conceded with the original amount, telling me that he was doing me a favoar by refunding the money because he didn't want me to have any more problems, and that he knew that to go to court would be a hardship on me. I informed him that it wasn't a hardship and that if I did go to court that I would get much more than the $299. I would collect for punitive damages as well as financial loss. When he found out that I wasn't going to budge one bit he told me that he would send the refund. I gave him 10 days to get it to me. If the money wasn't here in the 10 days I would pursue with the court system. Now, if anyone else is having problems I suggest you drive them crazy with e-mails ( benefitzbiz@hotmail.com ) Also record all conversations.(a recorder is only $39.95) call the FTC and the FCC. File a police report. Call the Attorney General of N.Y., call your T.V. station, put an add in the newspaper. Won't cost anything if you have a reporter do an interview, and DO NOT GIVE AN INCH!!!!!!!!!. Continue with the E_mails and they will give you a refund because this is taking up their time, is driving them crazy, and they are afraid of legal intervention. They don't want the publicity.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. Stick to your demands, and you will get the refund.
