World Cafe Live Dishonest pricing on mezzanine tickets Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I am a supporter of public radio and heard from friends they were attending a performance at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia this June.

Tickets for General Admission, standing were $25 and Mezzanine Tickets seated were $35.  It seemed worthwhile to get seats for $35.  I went through the process of submitting my credit card details and was very suprised to find that the total cost had gone up to $51 each from $35.

World Cafe LIve had imposed a "Mezzanine Premium" of $10 each ticked. Now an honest organization would have priced the tickets at $45 each.  This was a clear case of dishonest pricing via hidden fees.

As a result, I am not going to the concert, do not plan to attend World Cafe Live and will reconsider my annual support for WXPN.  I support public radio, but for me, it must be ethical.

We are sorry that you had a disappointing experience when trying to purchase tickets for a show at World Cafe Live. We try and disclose all information in advance, and on every downstairs show listing page it does say that their is an additional fee for mezzanine seats, along with a link for further info. If the show you were purchasing tickets for did not have this, please let us know as it was a regretful omission and we will fix it immediately.

Also, please note that World Cafe Live and WXPN are separate companies and your support of the station has no affiliation with the venue.
