World Financial Network National Bank telephone harrassment of innopcent people Nationwide
Today I was called by a representative of ADS a subsidiary of world financial network national bank about a loan or something that was past due. I explained that the account was possibly my sons and that he was not available. After further threats of more calls I said clearly that my son didn't live here and that he had just moved and that he had more than enough money to make any payments. The gentleman then proceeded to ask for my son's phone number and I explained that he had just started a new job as a programmer with a large bank and that the bank had given him a phone recently and a laptop computer as well. And I told him that his old cell phone was no longer in service. I advised him that when my son did stop by I would give him the message to call ADS. I also stated that I wasn't sure when he would be stopping by as he was still shopping for furnishings for his new apartment.
The gentleman stated that he would be calling back until he caught him answering the phone. It was then that I advised him not to call me again. He said that he could do what he wanted and would in fact continue top harass my wife and I until contact was made. I advised him that he he persisted and I received any further calls from him or his company I would set up my predictive dialer to dial his toll free number 1000 times for each time they called me and that this would cost his company 10 cents for each call that connects. ( I have a 6 line predictive dialer setup on a stand alone pc that works quite well)
He then stated that he would be calling back. I hung up!
Within 30 minutes he had not only called my home number again but had in fact looked up my other line in the directory and called me on that line as well. But when I answered the line suddenly went dead but thanks to caller ID and yellowbook I did a reverse lookup of the numbers and paid the fee for the actual name of the business that had called. It was ADS now calling a number that wasn't even on the account and that they had no right to call.
I have set up my dialer to start the campaign during business hours this week and the outgoing message if they choose to listen to it will tell them exactly why they are receiving the calls and exactly how many calls are left on the campaign.
As of now there have been 3 calls from them after I requested that they not call me and all within the last 3 hours. Perhaps when they figure out that it's going to cost them more than what is probably due on the account they might call and ask me to stop and promise not to call me again.
For the record, my son is a responsible individual and always honors his obligations. During the move any mail could have been misplaced or remains unpacked. He also keeps an accurate journal on his IPOD thing as well as very accurate records of phone numbers. Former special warfare and law enforcement as well as securing this programming position starting at 60.8k would lead one to believe that he is quite capable both financially and otherwise handling his obligations.
In closing, if anyone else has issue similar to these, the predictive dialers are very effective at stopping those unwanted calls especially when they have toll free numbers. The can be found on the Internet and are a bit pricey but they can be used for legitimate telemarketing and for political campaigns as well a s call campaigns for charities. These units will pay for themselves in a couple of campaigns. Who knows maybe I would entertain the thought of making calls on behalf of others in the same boat.
