World Groups unauthorized billing Internet

I was a member of world groups and had my own group and was a member of several others.I joined a group that had the pay for premium features and I did not select to obtain the premium features. When my credit card showed a charge for a premium feature to the group I contacted world groups to contest the unauthorized charge to my account and was told because I did not click to unsubscribe the premium feature of that group the charge was valid. I told them this charge by default policy was not acceptable because I did not request it nor authorize the feature. I also told them I would not pay for a feature I did not select and would seek legal council to file suit if necessary to remedie the policy.

World groups responded by canceling my account without notice other than an email stating because I threatened legal action I was unwelcome. However the charge remains to my credit card account. I suggested to world groups that they ammend this policy of payment by default and make it plain and simple by asking wether a person wanted premium features or not with a link to select yes or no. World groups did not respond to even aknowledge this suggestion and I was forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

That is where it remains to date and as soon as world groups responds I will post the outcome. This former member says beware of world groups and their policies. Once they aquire your credit card account information they WILL charge it by default without your authorization.

We were truly sorry to discover that Ben's experience with WorldGroups was not satisfactory to him. Unfortunately, we could not locate Ben's WorldGroups account based on the information given in the above complaint. We therefore strongly encourage Ben to contact us directly at 1-888-768-2006, and ask to speak to a manager. We are completely willing to refund the charges that Ben mentioned, and we would appreciate the opportunity to resolve the problem to his complete and total satisfaction.

The standard WorldGroups account is a free account and carries no monthly or access charges. However, certain features on an individual Group can be designated as "Super Features." To access these certain features, a user must have a "Super Features" account, which carries a monthly charge. This charge is clearly disclosed through prominent notification icons and information. The user must affirmatively consent to the charge prior to being billed. Once this affirmative consent is given, the user is then billed for the charges associated with that Group. The user may cancel any or all Group memberships at any time.

Customer service is our number one priority, and we always strongly encourage anyone with questions or concerns to contact us directly so that we can address the specific issues that may have arisen. We welcome customer suggestions and ideas, and are always open to innovative ways to serve our customers. We prominently post our contact information on every page on the site, and next to every charge on a credit card bill. We have been in business for 11 years, and during that entire time we have been registered in good standing with Truste and other leading independent consumer protection agencies.
