I lost my job 2.5 years ago, and couldn't afford to pay the credit card anymore.  So we decided to look into credit/debt services --

I suggested a company I had used before I met my husband, called "Community Credit Counseling Corp." -- based in New York.  They were AWESOME; had my debt paid up in 3 years, and Credit re-established @ higher score than before I went into credit card debt as a single person.

My husband chose (without my consent) to go with World Law Group because he did not want to pay the $25 monthly fee that CCCC would charge for their services.  We have been paying World Law Group for 18 months.

Creditors Never stopped calling;to this day.  In fact, they just called a couple of hours ago...

When we called World Law Group to address this issue, they sent an email with a Lawyer's name to give to the creditors whenever they called, and shrugged us off.

So my husband shrugged it off too... he doesn't have to deal with the phone calls...

After several months went by, I asked my husband for an update... said he had called and spoke to a lawyer, and that everything was fine.

After several more months, I asked my husband again for a follow up... he said everything was fine.  I asked him, Why Then, were the creditors still calling?  He dunno...

A year went by -- I asked my husband for an update... he said everything was fine.  But That just wasn't good enough for me anymore.  I made him explain to me how this company 'works'... and he gave me the schpiel THEY gave him about putting our money in escrow, letting it acrue interest, and negotiating with our creditors once we build up the funds... ok, I understood that -- so I asked him... how do they make money?  He couldn't explain... and quickly changed the subject to me not contributing to the family anymore, and that I better go get a job... and blah, blah, blah.  Anything to put the blame squarely on me.

An Argument ensued, and we left it at "I know what I'm doing; I looked this company up, and they have legitimate websites!  yada! yada! yada!" -- This... coming from someone who is an IT SPECIALIST for a Living!!  I did not want to argue with him about this anymore; if we were getting scammed, at least I did my part to take precautionary measures.  That was December 2012.

Last week, I applied for a job at an insurance company; they did a background check and came up with this BAD CREDIT Report regarding the Bank of America credit card debt we had hired World Law Group to settle -- so I asked my husband to look into it because this company I applied to for a job, is asking...

He sent an email to World Law Group, and got a generic auto-response from the infamous "Shannon Ebert - Legal Assistant"; phf!  What a Crock!  Probably not even a real name...

When I called the phone number... only recordings come on... when I press a number to be re-directed, I get Voice Mail after re-direction.  No Live person ever came on the phone... not even during office hours.  When they respond, they do so via auto email; a real person does not return the phone call.

Well, it's been over a week now, and I need that info. on our "Bad Credit" before I go in for the 3rd phase of this Job Interview... but all we got was this auto email from Shannon.  We can't seem to get any answers from them... sooooo I started researching the company, and Lo n Behold, came across this website "Ripoff Report".  After reading up on World Law Group... I had to break the very bad news to my husband.  $4,000.00+ later, he is profusely apologizing to me.

All I said was, "Hunny, you know when I say... I don't like to be RIGHT?  And you just don't understand what I mean by that?  This is a great example of why I don't like to be Right.  Do you understand now?"

He had all but 2 words for me:  Yes Hunny.

Ugh!  Being Right does not MAKE It Right; that is why I don't like to BE Right, especially After-the-Fact, when it's too late to Be Right; I wanted to be RIGHT, back Then, when I had suggested another company that had a PROVEN Track Record.... but noooOOOOOooooo.

Apologizing doesn't Fix It either; but I'll still take it... served on a silver platter, smothered in the highest-end caviar, with a glass of Cristal, thank you very much hunny.

Heavy sigh.... don't make me say, "I Told You So..." ~
