World Moving Resource Corp - Joe Mangiafico World Moving Resource, Take Money, Break Contract, Completely Unrepentant, WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!! Broken Items, Delays in Pickup and Delivery Hollywood Florida
This is a true, unembellished story. Nothing has been changed or exaggerated at all. World Moving Resource Corporation is THE WORST company I have EVER done business with. They are completely unorganized and even worse they are just plain jerks and liars.
It all started the week of May 15th 2009. My Fianc and I were moving her out to Virginia on May 15th. We wanted to hire a company that would move her stuff out of here apartment for her since I was already living in VA and wasn't there to help her. The plan was to have them pick her stuff up and I was flying out there to drive back here with her. We both had to be back here by Monday for meetings.
Every day the week of the 15th I called World Moving Resource Corporation to make sure that everything was on schedule. They were supposed to pick us up the 14th or the 15th of May. They told me that everything was fine. Finally on Friday as I was waiting for my flight in the airport I called them because we still hadn't heard anything from the carrier and they were supposed to be there at that time. I asked them if they could call the carrier and find out for sure they were on there way. They called me back and told me that there was going to be a slight delay, and that the movers would be there on Monday or Tuesday. I explained the fact that we had to be back on Monday and that we had to have the walk through of the apartment on Saturday. They said sorry I don't know what you want us to do. Finally after about an hour of talking to them they called another company in Denver to pick up our stuff and hold it until the haulers could pick it up on Monday or Tuesday. WE had to pay an extra $250 to the company in Denver for this, even though it was World Moving Resource's fault.
During the time I was trying to find out why our movers were not going to be there on time, I called the carrier that was supposed to pick us up in Denver. They told me that their truck had broken down and that they had informed WMRC of this on Tuesday May 12th. WMRC never indicated there was going to be any kind of problem.
So when we got here to VA, I called WMRC on Weds to follow up with them. Our stuff had not been picked up and Joe told me that it would be picked up the next day. I said ok that's fine do you know when it should arrive then? He said it would be there in about a week from Thursday.
The following Wednesday (May 27th)I called WMRC because we hadn't heard from the carrier. I tried to call them 3 times that day and left messages for both Joe and Eli. No one returned my call. I tried to call them again the next day, and they still wouldn't answer or return my calls. Finally, I decided to call the Carrier that was supposed to pick us up on the 15th. The woman that I had talked to there said that WMRC pulled that contract from them and that they were no longer picking us up. She told me that it was really strange because they had another pick up to do in Denver around May 18th and they could have picked us up then. After I talked to her, I continued to call WMRC. Finally, on Friday May 29th I got a hold of Joe. This is how the conversation went:
Joe, why hasn't our stuff been picked up?
You know why it hasn't
No Joe, I really don't.
You know the truck is broke down.
Actually I just talked to the carrier they said they no longer had the contract and the truck is fine.
Listen Read your contract we have 30 days to deliver your stuff. I am not going to play these games. Stop being Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. It doesn't matter when we pick you up as long as we have it there within 30 days from the original date.
Ok Joe, that's fair you do have 30 days. Can you guarantee me that it will be here by June 15th? What happens if it's not?
It will be there by the 15th, you don't have to worry about it
Ok, Joe we will give you until the 15th.
So, a few more days went by. I called them on Wednesday, June 3rd. Joe told me that they were going to pick our stuff up on June 4th, and that we would have it in about 5 days. The next afternoon I called the company in Denver that had our stuff and they said they had not heard from anyone and that our stuff was still there. Friday the 6th I called WMRC and they told me that the drivers were delayed and it would be picked up over the weekend. I called them Monday and they told me that it had not been picked up, and that I should be picked up Thursday the 11th and that they would drive it straight our here to make their deadline of the 15th. Again Thursday it was not picked up and over the weekend it was supposed to be picked up. Again it wasn't. Finally, on Friday June 19th our stuff was picked up in Denver. This was over a month after they were supposed to pick us up and 4 days after they were supposed to DELIVER our stuff.
Thursday the 18th before our stuff was going to be picked up I called the new carrier that was picking up our stuff. He told me that they had other deliveries to go do and that it would be 11 days at least before they would deliver our goods. I called WMRC and asked them to refund our deposit. I told them I would just go get the stuff on a uhaul myself. Eli told me that they would not give me a refund of my deposit even though they had performed absolutely no part of their contract. He assured me that everything would be ok and that they would be picking us up and delivering our stuff in one piece.
July 4th 2009: Our stuff finally arrived to VA. It was largely broken and in pieces. We had mirrors that were not wrapped up and broken. Antique plates in boxes, the boxes were smashed from their original size of about 12 inches to about 8 inches. Our brand new couch was broken and stained, our washer and dryer were both smashed and bent and the frames and shells were twisted and distorted. Our tv center was all banged up. Our antique dresser was very damaged and scraped up. We haven't even gone through it all yet and more of its been damaged than not.
