There was a one year membership included with Work Vacation Network (WVN) when we bought our time share last summer. Recently, I've been getting calls to pay them $149.00 a year to extend the service another year. I did my due diligence which included a guided tour with a representative through the website explaining the available services.

This past Friday evening I received a follow-up call from WVN, and I explained that the membership was not something we wanted to continue. The representative then told my that we had already paid them $5K when we purchased the timeshare and that it would be a shame to lose all that money. I got him off the phone and called my resort. I was told that there was no membership to WVN paid for with my membership. My resort had merely given us a 12 month membership to see if we liked it.

Be aware that they may use the same means to coerce others into extending their contract.
