MCI Worldcome has ripped off my daughter and several others that I know of! They solicited my daughter, by phone, and offered her the first 3 months for $10.00 a month and $24.95 starting the fourth month + a free phone.

Everything went along fine at first. Then the bills stopped coming. About November, 2002 she received a large bill and was instructed NOT to pay that amount that "they were working to bring her billing to current levels". In December, 2001 the bills started coming again, only they were exorbitant amounts! There was NO explanation for these amounts, either. Each subsequent bill was higher and higher. She called them and there was no answer. This went on for several months.

In the meantime, they discontinued her service, again with no notification. She wrote to them and said she would pay her bill after she got proper documentation as to these outlandish charges she was receiving.

She has not heard from them for almost a year and this week received a bill from a Collection Agency stating that she was in default for over $1,000!!! Apparently, they have still been billing her for this entire time. It's horrible and others I know are in the same situation with Worldcom. I have spoken with some of them and they have not heard from WC for a year, either, but got no final resolution.

I'm so glad that I found this outlet for CONSUMERS to speak out again Worldcom!
