I was called and notified I had won the drawing I had entered at a local mall. I was told I had won a free vacation to Las Vegas and all expenses were paid.
To get this free trip we had to go to Garden City, Utah and attend a orientation about the trip. Me and my boyfriend traveled to Garden City, Utah on November 23,2007 to attend the orientation and got all these great offers but it all came with a price. We ended up buying into some kind of a timeshare and ended up giving them $194.00 as a down payment for the timeshare.

We then went back home and discussed our finacial situation and decided we were uncapable of keeping up with the payments they had offered us and I called the number on the card that Kevin B. Siegalbaum had given me at the orientation and told him we would like to cancel and he would not accept the fact that we wanted to cancel and after arguing he told me I had to write a letter to a certain person but he did not have the address on hand. I found all the addresses in the books he gave me that had to do with cancellation and sent a letter to wyndham resort development corporation attn: contract processing 9805 Willows Road Redmond,WA. 98052 notifying them of my cancellation.

I waited a couple of weeks for a response and there was no response so I tried calling his phone numerous times and there was never an answer. I figured it was a scam when my phone calls were not being returned and I was receiving no response because it was too good to be true and they wanted a "small portion" of money to get what we wanted in return and now here we sit wondering if our credit and identity are going to be messed with and ruined and so on and so forth.

The ex employee up there, is just ridiculous.

First you come off like you're helping, then you pretty much make her out to feel crazy for not wanting to keep the time share. I heard the same kind of thing during the presentation with Casablanca, you're definitely not an ex employee I can tell you that much.

Get rid of the timeshare, they are a fraudulent company that schemes people all the time, just read all the reviews. If you can't afford it, don't do it, this country is always living way beyond their means and you may make some good memories but you'll have financial statements reminding you of the amount of years you'll have to work to pay it all off.

Flying to Paris in first class and staying there for a month sounds fantastic and would make for some amazing memories but does this mean you should do it if you can't afford it?? NO WAY. ridiculous reasoning.

Take Responsability For Lack of Commitment Before Falsely Accusing Someone of "Scamming"...

#5REBUTTAL Individual responds

On November 23rd, 2007, I toured "Angelope_06" and here boyfriend at a WorldMark by Wyndahm Vacation Ownership sales presentation (we are not timeshare). For them to come to the presentation they were qualified by our marketing department by age, income and marital status (if married or with a significant other, they too must attend). They were informed that the presentation was to last approximatly 90 minutes and that if they were interested, it could take longer. I let them know up front that the gift they were promised was here for them for their time, not for a purchace.

Both "Angelope_06" and here boyfriend appeared interested and were asking lots of questions even. I always ask that if our program were affordable would they want to come on as our newest owner. They said yes. They discussed finances with my project director and after about 3 or 4 honored requests for then to have a little time to discuss matters privately, they had agreed to purchace an ownership. They had discussed different financial reasons to accept or decline the offer privately and openly but, utimatley, they decided to become owners at that moment. I gave them my card with our office number and my personal cell number as they left and told them to call me if they had any questions.

The next day, we received a call from the boyfriend telling us to cancel the contract. Since his name was not on the contract as he wanted to do this but did not want to take any responsability for it (paraphrasing his words), I had to contact "Angelope_06" to confirm the situation. We talked for a couple of minutes to make sure she wanted to cancel or if it was just a bit of cold feet. She said she that she wanted to cancel, they didn't even want thier down payment back, and asked me how to do it.

The night before, during paperwork with my project director, they were given a paper that they read and signed regarding their rights to a 5 day recisson period (even though Utah only requires 3 by law) and they were informed that it was their responsability to send in a letter a specific office with which we provided an address to. I was not in the office at the time of the conversation so I called my project director to confirm where she could find the address, I called "Angelope_06" back and she said she would be sending it in. I told here to call me if she needed anything else and wished her well. No aurgument ensued and I didn't think any more about it since it was honestly out of my hands.

I then received several text messages fromeither of them to the regards of the cancelation which are on file with my phone company. I do this to cover my bases since I have a licence to do what I do and I don't play games with it.

Some time later, I can't remember how long, I received a message in the office that "Angelope_06" called and to call her back. I returned the call to find out that she was contacted by someone in our company about late payments. At the time, I was using my son's phone as mine was lost in a snow bank in front of the house (true story embarrasing as it may sound) and told her that I would be calling from this number and that she could contact me as well. I checked up on the situation and found that there was no letter on file at the processing office that she said it was sent to. I called her back and told her this and that she needed to follow up and I gave here the number to our Owner Services department. and that was the last I heard from her.

A few weeks later, our office received notification that "Angelope_06" contract had recinded and that was that. If there were any problems with the processing of her recission, I could not tell you, but I did all I could to help her as best I could. When I did find my phone, I checked my phone log. No calls had been made from her to me in the time that it was under snow. I have an account with AT&T to prove her claim is "exaggerated".

I cannot explain the Los Vegas trip as I do not know if they followed trough with the instructions on the certificate. We are governed and regualted by ARDA (American Resorts Development Association) and the gifts are legitamate. We are "shopped" by agents both within our company and by other agencies to make sure we are following the required and legal criteria of our programand the laws that govern us. There is not "ident I am sorry that "Angelope_06" feels the need to respond this way but it did not happen the way she claimed.

If you have read this and you wish to contact me regarding this issue or how our program really works (since I don't want anyone to have a sour taste in their mouth regarding vacation ownership) contact me. Thank you for allowing me to respond though, since you had my numbers from Angelope_06, I would have appreciated a call or contact to verify her claim before posting this complaint with my name. Thak you.

You have 2 options!

First option is to send a fax into the office saying you want to cancel. If its passed the time you just include you were sold on the idea of investment and misrepresented cause the agent that sold you said that you get free airfare and and all kinds of stuff you never got. They will cancel you at anytime to avoid lawsuit with no problems.

Option2: You should keep your timeshare. My grandparents bought a timeshare 20 years ago on the lake for $2100. They've been using it and love it for 20years. Today it goes for $17,000 And I must say you don't purchase a timeshare to make money but to make memories. My grandparents will never sell even if they were offered $50,000. They love it. I myself own with worldmark and have vacation credits. I love it. Im only 26 and Ive been to places most people wait to see when they retire. I have a daughter, her and I were in st Thomas and have are pictures taken on the beach and shes in her own little chair and umbrella. I vacation with my family like im a CEO of a company and people ask me how I do it. I only make $30k a year and that's supporting a family"so not much" but can still afford to take exotic vacations and retreats. I also have the pride of my daughter learning from the real world and not just from some textbook. So when shes a little older and the teacher is talking about some place in a textbook my daughter will most likely say shes been there and has learned a few things that she can share with the class.

Also think ahead. If you think its hard to vacation on the money you have now, what are you going to do when you retire? Or are you gonna go off of the idea you will be in a differnt situation, or hit the lotto, or get a better job between now and then? Remember its not that we plan to fail, its that we simply just fail to plan! A timeshare is what you will rely on for fun when you retire. Since you sound young like me you can take a lot of great vacations and make memories before you retire and its paid for its self many times over.

I hope this helps. Good luck. also don't ask yourself if you cant afford it yet ask yourself if you can really afford not to do it. - The junkie
