I replied to Worldwide Designs add on Craigslist because they were looking for a highly skilled office manager, and I though I fit the bill. My list of jobs were highly reputable sales jobs that I had worked at for a long length of time. I posted my resume' through my email address, and about 2 hours later I recieved a voicemail from a girl named Kellie stating that they had recieved my email and were very interested in setting up an interview with me. I called her back a few hours later at around 12:45 and she wanted me to come in around 2. Ummm, short notice dontcha think? I made up some excuse and scheduled it for the next day at 12:45. When I pulled in the parking lot I could see the sign over the door that said "Worldwide" so I gave them kudos for that at least.

When I walked in there was no magazines, no one at the front desk, no paperwork, but there was an office up front (David's) that was filled with all kinds of neat and wonderful trinkets. His daughter was in his office, walking all around being her cute self. I had already brought my resume, but a man gave me another one to fill out some more of my information. This resume had to have been the worst I had ever filled out in my life. There was only one spot for one job on it. A lot of the things had been blacked out. Than I started paying more attention to the office. No paint on the walls, no plants, no lights. I asked the guy standing at the front door apparently staring at me, where the fish were in the fish tank. His reply "We just ordered some". Ordered some? What kinda fish are they?! A girl with bleach blonde hair and a very nice personality came out from another interview and introduced herself to me. She was EXTREMELY nice, and let me just say that when I interviewed people in the past, you NEVER become that nice. We went into her "office" (small room off to the side with a few knicknacks) and she closed the door. She basically told me what they were looking for. Someone with personality and a good attitude. She asked me very random and stupid questions. None having to do with my work background.............so I started asking her questions. What is your company? What does my title entail? She briefly summed up that they were a wholesale perfume company with a long list of distributors that need to managed by "my employees". I told her that I used to be a key account manager at a company and managed a lot of distributors. She looked at my resume to check. Shouldn't she have already done that BEFORE she decided to have me come in for an interview. So, after some random conversation, she said that she can already tell I am a fit for the 2nd interview, but she needed to talk it over with the rest of the "management" to make sure they agreed. I was to call back at 3pm to make sure. Low and behold, I got a 2nd interview. "Congratulations" she said.

So, I got an outfit together for the "2nd interview" and went. Walked in at 10:45 where a man (David) was standing around the other applicants (about 13). He pulled them into a room and had them start copying the board. I didn't follow because I didn't feel I was part of that group because apparently I wasn't as eager as them to show up 20 minutes early. he came back out and shook my hand. Very nice guy, I have to admit. Good looking, not intimidating. Seemed like (from showing off his wife and daughter the day before) he could be a pretty trustworthy guy. When he took me into the room with the others they had a boombox up front on a table cranked up pretty loud. I joked around with one of the guys next to me that maybe they were testing us on our personality so much to see which one would get up and dance. Than Kellie came in and started talking to us about her shopping day tomorrow. She was naming off a ton of stores that she loved, and asked if we knew where the nearest ones were. She definately made us aware that tomorrow she planned on going on a shopping spree. One of the tactics used to make us all believe that she was making good money. I think they just feed all their employees crack or something, cause all of them seemed kinda cooky and unprofessional. But what can you expect from scammers who take advantage of those less fortunate?

David finally came back in and started talking to us. I tell you what, this guy could be a comedian, he was so funny. Cussing and laughing. To be honest, half the s**t he said about the company I didn't hear cause I was too busy looking at him wondering how he could get off on lying to innocent people the way he was right than and there. Than his wife Jenny came in. Beautiful girl.Spunky personality. Very fun. She talked about Sales & Management, Admin Stuff, Bonuses and Profits, Salary ($35,000 to start). Sounds appealing right? Who wouldn't want a job like that? Fun people to hang around with, managing others, making your own hours, picking your own insurance, bonuses for having a good attitude? Yes, they said you get a $50 bonus for having a good attitude (i.e. managing your staff with a positive attitude). In some aspects I can see all of this happening, but only to those who are so desperate to hang on to anything they can get, that after many years of working their a*s off for chump change, they get the next step up. There are many that don't have time for this. Familys struggling to survive. Houses being foreclosed, family members losing their jobs, struggling to pay for utilities, food, medical expenses..............all while these people go to sleep at night in their nice overly huge homes and fancy cars knowing that their "performance" that day will make them more money in the end.

Anyways, after Jenny was done rambling, David came back in with his potty mouth to let us know that "in no way, shape, or form will you ever have to pay out of pocket to this company". Ummm, why would any company say that? That's a surefire sign right there! I held in the laugh. I looked that man directly in the eyes as he talked, watching his every move, listening to his lies. After he concluded his "schpiel" he stated that he knows of 3 people in the room that will for sure be proceeding to training. He told us that we needed to call him back at 2:30 (it was 1:45) so apparently there wasn't much to think about. You know why? Cause every person that was in that room with me, that called at 2:30, was hired! When I called Jenny answered and asked who I was, than said "Oh yea. David and I think you have a wonderful personality. You really followed everything that was said today. We are gonna give you a try. Congratulations!" Give me a try? I acted excited, told them how "spunky and fun" they were, than hung up. I had a bad feeling, and I was right.

I am extremely disappointed at what our world has come too to make money. People will do anything and everything for material things. They would put people out on the unsafe streets selling cheap and watered down perfume so they can have fancy things. They will lie to your face, tell you what you want to hear, and always think that what they are doing isn't wrong. It's just a way to live. Their desire to acquire becomes the whole goal of their lives. The drive to always get more is based on the misconception that having more will make them more happy, more important, and more secure..............even if it means getting someones innocent hopes up, only to let them crash down uncontrollably. I thought about going into that office and saying something to them, but than I realized that soon enough, they will know what they are doing, and they will regret every single moment of it for eternity. I truly believe that. For those of you that were or still are somehow convinced that this is a legitimate business, continue doing research. They are blasted all over the internet as scammers trying to make a fast buck. Hopefully you read about them before you waste your gas and time on them, but hey, it was fun to see their "performance". I gotta give them props. They are good at what they do, but they have been doing this since 2002 from what I know. They got it downpat!
