On the week of march 7th 2003, I noticed a debit of $6.95 from wpi friends. i looked up who they were and called. I had never purchased any membership from them. I had to cancel a membership I did not open and they retuned my money. I buy very few things on-line. My Question is how did they get my info to bill me?

#2Consumer Suggestion

Jason,

(Are you sure you don' t mean 2004? Anyway,) I'm a longtime internet user, and a longtime iFriends customer. In my experience there are so many companies out there that I feel nervous about giving my card number to. iFriends is not one of them - they have been billing me for years, and I've yet to have an issue they didn't do their best to resolve. However, I tend to hang out in their "adult" videochat rooms, and I know from some of the other users there that sometimes they're embarrassed to admit to the wife or gf what's on the credit-card statement. Maybe that's what's happened in your household? Anyway, if they billed you that means someone used your card information and opened an account with them. I would suggest cancelling your card, because it's possible someone else is using it. I've had my card used for stuff i didn't purchase, and it wasn't until after i cancelled my card that I found out it was a relative that did it over for the holiday's. You never can tell how someone might've gotten your card, or who it could be (could be a receipt you dropped, a relative, a restaurant, or even 1 of the few places you accessed online). Fortunately, their are responsible companies out their like iFriends who are willing to give the money back if you let them know you had nothing to do with it. If you are really worried about it, contact your local police department, credit card fraud is a felony and they can track down the culprit and persecute. I'm sure iFriends wouldn't have a problem working with the police if they contact them.

Anyway, Good Luck!
