Credit card was used for age verification to access free websites. I am being billed by ifriends internet and ifriends elite. They stated in their agreement "credit card info used for identification purposes only. Being billed so far a total of 9.95. I have gone back and canceled, we'll see if billing continues.

Prior to posting the above RipOffReport complaint, William cancelled his account online, but did not request a refund of the charges that had already posted. Because customer service is our number one priority, we have issued refunds for the charges in question and have notified William of this. Should there be any further questions or concerns, he can contact our Customer Support Department 24/7 at (800) 243-9726.

Regarding the substance of the complaint, the scenario presented in William's report is not one that realistically could have occurred on our web site. We offer several different types of memberships. While the standard iFriends membership carries no charge, the charges mentioned by William were for additional premium services requested by William. The membership in which William opted to enroll included the fees mentioned in his report. All charges incurred by William on the account were clearly and conspicuously disclosed in advance. No customer could incur charges as specified in William's complaint without advance disclosure of such charges and numerous multiple click-throughs by the customer to indicate his acknowledgement and affirmative consent to such charges. When a customer cancels his account, the premium membership fee is no longer charged. Because William cancelled his account, he will receive no further charges unless he elects to create a new premium account.
