If you are low income and receive energy assistance benfits, be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen by Wisconsin Power Services.
WPS views energy assistance funds as monopoly money. In their eyes it's not as good as real money. They will not apply the same servive/treatment to you as they do to someone who can pay their monthly bill in full each month.
They abuse their position and truly do not want to be bothered providing service to those who have to make payment arrangements and struggle to come up with their rates each month. They would rather disconnect you, then deal with processing monthly payments.
They will find any and all loopholes to shut you off. Paying them in full and on time through payment plans is not enough for them. They will always tell you that you some how defaulted on the agreement as they make up new rules each month without informing you of it prior.
WPS keeps increasing their rates. Energy or heating costs are now more then an avaerage persons mortgage. You have no choice but to keep paying and paying what ever they say. There's no oversight and they are running amuck.
It's to the point that the middle class and the low income will not be able to afford energy. It's now a service only the wealthy will have access to.

I have a solution to the problem you seem to have. Why don't you quit biting the hand that feeds you and thank the people of wisconsin that have had the money they work hard for taken away from them to pay for your computer, your internet connection, your heat for your government subsidized housing, and your electric bill so you can sit on your lazy derier and complain.
GET a job useing the same computer you use to complain about the power company that is MANDATED by the state of wisconsin to collect OUR hard earned money ad distribute it to the likes of you.
