Complaint Review: Wright Express

Since we no longer use our Wex Fleet Gas cards, we called to cancel the account. Because the person who originally set this up is no longer with the company, the person we spoke with in customer service said they were unable to assist us. We asked if there was information we could verify so we could prove we were authorized to close the account.  The customer service person said no, there was no information we could verify that he could not speak with us, and could only speak with the person listed on the account.  (Of course, we could have just lied and said we were her, but how ridiculous is that???)

Next, we wrote a letter on company letterhead signed by the president of our company asking that the account be terminated. We received a bill for $47.00 ($8.00 for their monthly fee and $39.00 for the late charge.) We received no response to the request to terminate the account.

We wrote a second letter, referencing the first, again stating that we wished to close our account.  Again, no response.

We plan to try to call them again today to see if we can get any assistance from someone there, but we're not holding our breath until that happens!!!

 

Our advice to you if you are considering WEX Bank Fleet Cards for your company. JUST DON'T!!!!
