Wu-Yi Tea And Living Lean - Raven Media Deceptive practices, internet fraud, ripping off the public Ontario California
After seeing and reading many of the 250 plus reports already posted about Wu-Yi and Living Lean, it almost seems pointless to add my story. I like so many fell prey to a cleaver scam. Buy one thing and unknowingly get billed for some other service without knowing we did it.
After realizing I was paying for something for 4 months without my knowing it was embarrasing. Following the 30 day trial offer and cancelling any future orders of tea I THOUGHT I did my part. Never even gave it another thought since I did not receive any more tea. (I cancelled because after using as directed and excersing as recommended, I saw no changes or felt any different then before the tea).
When I finally realized I had already paid $119.80 since March of this year by some company called Living Lean, I called Customer Service of Wu-Yi. (1-866-396-5711). I explained to the representative my story how I cancelled any futher orders back in February and since have not received any more tea, however, I was continuing to be charged from some company called Living Lean. I told her in March, April, May and June I was charged $19.95 a month and to be honest I have no idea why.
I was told that Living lean was a partner company providing health counselling services in conjunction with Wu-Yi and that when I signed up for the Wu-Yi I also contracted with Living Lean. The rep said, "It was in your contract".
The deceptive part of all this is, there was no mention in the contract of any named company that would provide additional services. There was no mention that if you cancelled services with Wu-Yi you would also have to call the contracted services of Living Lean and cancel with them as well. "How could I cancel something I didn't no I had or call someone who I didn't know existed?
Wu-Yi said that they would refund three of the four month payments I paid, leaving me to eat the remaining $19.95, I guess just because of my ignorance of not catching the unknown payment I made.
For anyone interested in Wu-Yi's contract language on this matter, here is a short blurb from their web site.
"We do provide some of our services through contractual arrangements with affiliates, services providers, partners and other third parties. We (and our service providers) use your personal information to operate our sites and deliver services to you. We must release your credit card information to the card-issuing bank to confirm payment for products purchased on this site; and we need to release your address information to the delivery service to deliver products you purchase from us.
We may periodically send you email regarding our products and services. You will always have the choice of unsubscribing from any emails we may send to you. In addition, we may (or agents working on our behalf and under confidentiality agreements) mail you select promotional offers from our advertising partners. We will not disclose your mailing address or other personal information directly to our advertising partners. Such third party promotional offers will never be emailed to you.
Occasionally, we may be required by law to provide personal information the appropriate governmental authorities. We will disclose such personal information upon receipt of a court order, subpoena or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we believe to be unlawful."
It sure would of been nice to receive an email from them telling me I was being signed up with Living Lean and giving me the OPTION to accept or reject it, but then again I was not charged for Living Lean until I opted out of Wu-Yi. If Living Lean was a partner at time of signing up for tea, then I would of seen payment for that service from the on-set of the contract.
So the big rip-off is being done after you stop the shipments of tea.
