Www.amishshopping.com, Scott Reinhart (owner)Amish Shopping Ripoff and thief using the Amish Goshen Indiana
Disappointment
Our family was very excited to find the exact dining table and chairs for our new home at Amish Shopping. We took our time looking and intended to spend what was needed for a piece of furniture that would have become a family heirloom. The Amish Shopping website appeared to provide exactly what we had hoped to own for a very reasonable price and delivery time of 7 to 9 weeks.
Although the website is associated with Yahoo! Shopping and utilizes the Yahoo! order system to manage the purchase selection, quantity, and total price for most items, our selection of a dining table and 4 chairs had features requiring that a price had to be quoted by the website owner. The price quoted for the dining table and 4 chairs was delivered by email and served as the basis of placing the order with Amish Shopping.
After discussing the order with the store founder and CEO Scott Reinhart by email and phone, we felt comfortable enough to send the required 50% deposit to begin the production. Scott offered to discount the price if we paid by check rather than credit card. Scott promised to send samples of wood stains and leather once our check had cleared, which it had. 9 weeks have passed since the deposit was sent and we have not seen the promised samples nor have we been able to make contact with Scott or the business to see what the order status was.
We decided to cancel the order after the obvious lack of customer care and service one would expect for an expensive purchase. There is also the likelihood that our deposit of $926.25 will not be returned as there have been no replies to the emails and phone messages left for Scott Reinhart.
The Amishsopping.com website is still up and operating with the appearance of a safe and well-established business supported by Yahoo! Shopping and testimonies from happy customers. Do not fall for this camouflage! Unfortunately, this website sadly abuses the name of the Amish by falsely linking themselves to the Amish name, goodwill, and character, and anyone interested in Amish quality furniture should stay clear of Amishopping.com and its owner Scott Reinhart.

Scott Reinhart is at it again. He is operating a web site called taketimetopray.com with a Mr Al Kidder.
Scott is now living in Bradenton, Fl. He left the Elkhart area in november 2004 when the Indiana Attorney General came after him. He currently has 15 warrants outstanding in Elkhart county.
Stay away from this guy.

I was contacted by Scott Reinhart by email today after a prolonged silence of 2 months.
Scott was curious as to why I should have been upset enough to write slanderous remarks and why I should leave him with the table and chairs set we had orderd. Apparently he has been understaffed, forced to work excessively long weeks and is now in a financial state that he wants to charge a restocking fee for the furniture he never delivered. A restocking fee is not mentioned as a return or canceled order policy on the website. Also, he suggests returning our down payment in installments.
Should a business accept nearly $1000 and disappear for 2 months and expect not to be judged in a negative way?
The fact that Scott has communicated with me offers the best hope that we might come out of this without much loss. I plan to keep this site informed of the situation as changes occur.
