On 06/04/2006, I performed a seach on their website for a replacement heat exchanger for my Hayward pool heater. Two parts with the exact same description appeared. I contacted Aaron and determined that part 6220-92 @ $209.95 was the correct part. When the part arrived, it was not the correct part for my heater. I made a good faith attempt to exchange for the correct part but was told all sales were final. After I had explained to Nick that I talked to Aaron, they offered to exchange the part and gave me an RGA number. I sent the package back at my expense of $18 and ordered part 6220-93 on 6/29/2006 @ $273.95. On 8/1/2006, I confirmed via tracking number that the part I returned was received by the warehouse. I contacted Aaron regarding my refund and was told he would get back to me. On 9/08/2006, I still have not received a refund and called back. I spoke to Nick who stated that he needed to research my return and get back to me, but would not offer any ETA on when he would call back. I feel their advertising and business practices are deceptive and I should receive full refund in the amount of $209.95 for the unused part I returned.

 I take issue with you suggesting that they go to Specialty Pool Products, this retiler, and specifically the owner is a dishonest person. They ordered a pool liner for me (they ordered a number of things that went wrong, the liner was just the most costly) the liner, even after I gave the pecks turned out to have rounded corners for a square pool! I contacted the owner right way to tell him the liner didn't fit. He assured me that the liner was SUPPOSE to fit the corners away from the wall. I believed him because it was new to me. Turns out he lied through his teeth. The liner failed after years and the pool liner mfg will not honor warranty since SPP ordered the wrong one! Now everyone makes mistakes, but SPP has just been nasty about even responding to my email saying they never got them. I have copies of the emails sent. All I wanted was an apology, there was no need for them to become extremely rude as they did. Not a good company.

I went to In The Swim and they have excellent customer service, I couldn't be happier with the help I got from them. The liner I ordered fits like a glove and isn't pull out of the corners.

I don't even know who's email I am getting because neither Barry or Tony or that rude Chris have the courage to sign their email to me. Liars and thieves all.

Reading this report and all the comments I wonder what is this company's policy with replacement parts? I believe it's Jeff, if a customer calls and talks to one of your employees and as a result of that call they think they're talking about the same part, yet it ends up being the wrong part. Are you saying that it's your company's policy to say oh my to bad there's no refund or return exchange for the right part? Weather it's the customer or your employee who makes the mistake, either way if you buy it from us and it's yours End of story? I believe the mans name was Nathan who said he got a RTV number to return the part. Now you have his money and the part? At one point you said you would send him back the part he doesn't need. If your company is going to send him anything don't you think it would be in everyone's best interest to just send him the right part? You have his money and the original part per your words. How can you expect to stay in business treating your customers like this? It just doesn't make sense. Don Sacramento CA.

Jeff,

Have you considered you might have a bit of responsibility for the trouble you seem to attract? Let's refer to my original post on this report.

YOUR staff recognized a problem with the description of the part on YOUR website and kindly offered to exchange the part. Waiving the no return policy was YOUR idea. Let's go over the facts one more time to bring everyone back up to speed:

At the end of June, your employees faxed an RGA request form to Optimus Parts.
Nick called on June 29th and instructed me to send the part back to Optimus with RGA number 315292 written on the package.
At my expense of $18, I returned the part via USPS (tracking number 01038555749675088669). The package was received by Optimus Parts on July 17.
On July 19, Optimus Parts credited your account in the amount of $154.15 via credit memo #214290. Check your July statement. ($154.15 = $209.95 20% for restocking)

I patiently gave you from July to September to refund my money. Your employees gave me nothing but lip service when I called for a status. That and that alone is the ONLY reason we are here today. Had you refunded the money, I would have been more than pleased and would not have been forced to expose you.

I bought the second part only because you processed the exchange. Had I known your intention was to solicit return of the part without ever refunding the money (hence RIP ME OFF), I would have never purchased it nor would I have returned the original.

Refer to your post where you said [Quote] We will of course ship the original product you purchased back to you as it is rightfully yours if Optimus has it. [END QUOTE]

Well here's a dose of reality. The tracking number proves Optimus has it. The credit memo proves you received credit. You can certainly talk the talk, but if you truly are a good business man, prove Timmy wrong and walk the walk. Refund my money or return the part.

Well how come I have not one complaint against waterfilters.com or golfclubsetc.com but they all fall within the pool supply industry? I have only been in business for 11 years. How do my employees seem to get our products out that I stock in my warehouse but when we drop ship from other distributors things get all screwed up? I guess that could be my fault for buying from them, but they promise me the world and say they are the best distributors with the best customer service....just ask em. Maybe you should look at the facts and come talk to me as we do an excellent job of placing the order, see I developed an online ordering system to manage our orders with the help of my employees and it is helping, it keeps the order in front of the vendor until they fulfill the order by tracking number and cost which sends the tracking number back to the customer. This way it will eliminate the distributor from just sitting on the order and not telling us it hasnt shipped! Furthermore we do have strict store policies. If you sincerely look at the BBB record most are delivery time issues with which most are Fedex's telling us that it will be there on Tuesday and it arrives a day later, something beyond our control. Others we have proof of responding too and the BBB does not post. TRUE as I have the faxes with confirmed reciept to the BBB, come by and I will show you!

This is why ripoffreport.com was started you idiot timmy, because Ed had problems with the BBB, if your a member things get pushed aside if your not a member the BBB slams you as in the case I chose not to PAY to be a member of the BBB just so they will side with me. LOOK and see how many people that are with the BBB have complaints...hardly any as they know where the money is coming from the BUSINESSESS, NOT THE CONSUMER! Wake up and get a dose of business 101 timmy.....address the questions timmy, try to be professional one time.

This IDIOT believes the world SHOULD and MUST revolve around his own wants and needs and whims and has no regard for the universal law of "reaping what you sow".


EXAMPLE: read the encounter Jeff has with ex-customer Richard from Port Orange, Florida. He gives Jeffery a solid tongue lashing and *&*-SLAP for his stupid comments.

No doubt Richard is well versed in business and even tries to give Jack some good advice.

Butas usual, Jack insists on trying to put the blame on everyone else except where it squarely belongs. Him.

Jack throws out this *&*& statement to Richard were only as good as our distributors hmmmm, no other Internet pool supply company seems to have this problem, nor do they have more than a couple complaints against them from the BBB. Compared to the SPE misfits having over 88 CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS in less than 36 months.

Could it be JEFF that you're a *&*& and nobody including distributors can stand dealing with you???? Sounds like a perfect assessment.

If that's not enough this pathetic hypocrite sticks his foot in his fat mouth again making the same statement in his last post to me.

At Swimming Pool Etc. we understand under certain circumstances items need to be returned. Items must be returned within 30 days of the original purchase date, in new and unused condition. We incur shipping costs on your behalf after pickup which the buyer is responsible for so any shipping and handling fees are non-refundable, and any item returned or refused for delivery will be subject to a 25% restocking fee, and any shipping charges.

Thought you all might want to see that Mr. Darrow did in fact agree to the store policies, the same ones listed above. But he continues the bashing of my companies on his web site and through ripoffreport. Now if I was a low life I would post negative things about his business, but I refuse to stoof to his level. See this is how a complaint to the BBB or ripoffreport gets distorted and we at SPE get a negative listing, even though he recieved the part from us, Darrow, also ordered from us again because we have the lowest prices. If you type in Wal Mart or Sams Club you will see negative postings on here, but does that stop people from shopping at those places, NO, because the public knows they are getting a good deal from those companies, but sometimes people cannot read or comprehend their agreement and then want to change the policy or agreement. What a joke this ripoff report is with all the lies and negative remarks that are not back up with anything other than a email address and pasword. Nathan, you will not recieve a dime from me as you have never sent any products back to me! You cannot show proof of return to my address of my business at 3667 Omec Park Dr. Rancho Cordova Ca. Plus you have posted several negative remarks about me and my company and my employees. The employees I have work hard and do the best they can.

And as for this idiot chirping in about 97 percent approval rating. I would love to see what your customers say about you and if you can even provide a 97% approval rating, and the only reason its 97 and not 100% had nothing to do with them recieving the product, if the get pissed about anything they can put a negative remark and this affects your approval rating. All it takes is 3 shipments out of 100 being late and some irrate customer that stated it was a guaranteed shipment when it was regular ground shipping. Then the customer wants a refund on the shipping and when it is a sauna which we sell on ebay it can be $250.00 dollars which is more than I have in profit. I wish you had a online businesses where customers could post bullshit responses about an individual or a company without knowing ALL the FACTS. I wish everyone that recieved there products on time and was happy with our prices and service would have to post something positive on here, then you wouldnt see the real 2 or 3 negative postings on here on the BBB with there bullshit 60 some complaints, most from shipping late due to vendors that dont have their s**t together such as SCP and many many others in the messed up pool industry. If the distributors did their job I wouldnt have these complaints, so distributors get your a*s in gear and keep up with my orders as there is not a vendor out there I havent paid and no reason not to ship.

That was a funny retort on the Paypal site. However, it could have been written by anybody as far as Yurtin is concerned. There is no identifying feature there except his admitted guilt here. You should not have to suffer this BS when you specifically confirmed with his "employee" as to whether the part you were ordering was what you needed. They allege to be knowledgeable professionals merely by being in business. Clearly they are not.

It's a shame that people have to act this way and probably why they froze his account. 97% is not necessarily that good of a feedback rating on the bay.

Hope he does indeed do the right thing for you. I will certainly warn others about his practices.

Still no refund. Tired of dealing with Aaron and Nick, I wrote a letter to Jeff Yurtin, the owner of:

The letter was both professional and factual. Jeff Yurtin has the nerve to blame me for his lack of business acumen. In my opinion, this guy is a real piece of work and his partners don't fall far from the tree. As a business owner, his reponse to me was both unprofessional and condescending. As you read the correspondence below, you will notice that he accused me of "blasting" him on a PayPal site.

So Mr. Yurtin, this is what I get for following your process? I returned the part to your warehouse at my expense, using the RGA instructions you provided and you get to keep my money and the part? Smells like fraud to me.

Did you also fail to notice that I purchased the correct part in good faith? After all, who wouldn't go ahead and purchase the correct part once an RGA had been issued for the incorrect part? What is keeping you from performing the final step in this RGA? Is it that you get a kick out of taking money from people? Do you not have a concious? Are you and your staff too lazy? I just don't understand why a business owner would risk so much for so little.

If you are a consumer are in need for pool parts or products, try a reputable company such as www.poolsinc.com or www.bestbuypoolsupply.com. I have had great experiences with both.

Buyer Beware Customer Service Non Existent

I called Nick today and he acted as if he did not know who I was and gave me the same lame excuse he did on 9/8/06. Then he transferred me to Aaron who actually changed the story he gave me two weeks ago, then he said he received payment from the warehouse for my return, today he denies receiving payment and denies knowing any of the people I mentioned that I had talked to at the warehouse. I then called the warehouse and personally talked to both of the people he claims not to know. I'm sure you won't be suprised to hear that they both know Aaron.
