www.hoteldiscounts.com - BEWARE
After looking up a certain hotel on the internet I called the "800" reservation line to book a room. I called the "800" listed, not realizing that I wasn't actually calling the hotel. I booked my reservation and hung up. I booked a room for 2 nights. The 1st night was priced at $209.95 and the 2nd night at $229.95. Something didn't seem right so I looked up the hotel again and called the main # instead of the reservation line. The hotel connected me to their reservation department and I was quoted a price of $235.00 + $2.00 (fee)+ $13.25 (tax) = $250.25/night.
The gentleman I booked this reservation for then received an email from "hoteldiscounts.com" confirming his reservation. The confirmation informed him that the 1st nights room would be $209.95 as originally quoted, however, there was also a $30.05 fee added to the room bringing the total for the 1st night to $240.00. The 2nd nights stay would be $229.95, however, there was also a $33.05 fee added bring that total to $263.00. I was not happy finding out that I'm paying this "discount service" $32.00 to book my reservation. I was not trying to get a discount rate I only wanted to book a reservation. Please be aware that I found NO SAVINGS by booking my reservation through www.hoteldiscounts.com. THEN I called Hotel Discounts to cancel that reservation and was informed I would be charged a $50 cancellation fee if I did so. At no time while making this reservation was a told about a $50 cancellation fee. They told me they couldn't do anyting about that!
