We do watch repair at my shop. Many customers come in with replica watches, that are brand new, that don't work. Even if they do work for a short period of time, it is next to impossible to get parts to repair them if needed. It's one thing to spend $25 to $100 for a replica, for fun. It's another to waste your money outright. One thing to remember. These watches are already illegal from the gitgo, counterfeiting and trademark violations. One has to keep in mind that you are dealing with a company that is trading in illegal and counterfeit goods. I wouldn't have high expectations from such a company. As for your complaint, in most cases it isn't cost efficient to repair them. I would try and get them to replace it if possible.
