I bought a Ford F-250 v10 super-duty 1999 truck a few years ago. In May 2005 the truck was sounding bad so we took it in to a dealer. The dealer said it needed a new engine. We contated Wynns and they requested we authorize the dealer to tear down the engine.

Each time we called the dealer they were waiting on another ispection or had been requested to tear it down more. This went on for nearly one month. The dealer then told us Wynns had approved a used engine and transmission. I called and was unhappy with used but understood it is in the warranty. I asked about car rental since I had been renting out of pocket and they would only cover 6 days. Later the same day they said no decision had ever been made on the truck and they would send the inspector over again.

After calling many many times and speaking to many people there they said yesterday, about two weeks later that they only approve a crank kit! My shop said that they have never dealt with such a company! My repair shop refuses to do the requested repair because they say it is "shoddy" and they could never stand behind it. They say there had been too much damage to look at that type of repair.

I am now left with the choice of finding another shop and fully paying the first shop from my pocket for their six weeks of work, or following my shop's recommendation and putting in a new engine and transmissin on my own. I am also left with huge car rental bills. I am mad and will strogly consider fixing it and filing suit against Wynns
