Xcelerate Networks: Directv (it's their internet/tv stream) & The Motive Group (they own Xcelerate Networks) Quality of service declined in under 10 months Birmingham Alabama
I live in an apartment that was forced to convert from Brighthouse Networks (cable tv/internet) to Xcelerate Networks (essentially Directv) with the promise of faster internet speeds and better tv at a lower price. At first this seemed to be only a minor embellishment as it worked pretty well. I have a PS3 and play online games. It worked great with Brighthouse, but it did not work at all with Xcelerate. After a week or so communicating with their customer support I was good to go with my PS3. This fix lasted 8 months until early February, and I again had to call. This time, however, I'm told that to fix the issue I will have to pay $10/month. Not for faster speeds, only to be able to connect my PS3. I already regret doing this because now my internet speed went from 7-9 MB/second to 0.15 MB/second on the same day. I hardly think this is coincidental and I don't look forward to the next call to customer service. I"ll stop before I go too deep into the conspiracy rabbit hole, but it doesn't sit well with me.
If you live in Birmingham, do yourself a favor and stay away from Xcelerate. Hopefully they will go out of business soon. Even if you're not into gaming, it's satellite tv. I lose the signal for tv 2-3 times each month and it's not always due to bad weather. Satellite tv is a joke, Xcelerate Networks is even worse, and I can't believe I'm saying this but I really miss Brighthouse. They're not perfect, but they are preferable to this sham company.
