We are on auto renew for XM Radio subscription.  We received a renewal notice for 1 yr. plan that stated $142.45.  XM xharged our Discover card $176.96.  When we call XM radio we talked with a poor speaking person off shore, when asked to be transferred, got person by the same name off shore (just like the Hi, my name is Peggy commercial).  Additional charge to card was for the Artist Royalty that can be collected.  (It's unclear whether this has been approved by law yet, but it's being collected.  There are hundreds of complaints on consumer complaint sites about being charged a year or more after canceling service, about charge cards overcharged, and if you do a charge back, XM simply cancels your service and charges you for all late fees incurred while you are cancelled.  People dispute charges often waiting 2 or more hours on the phone with off shore poor speaking reps, who refuse to help and refuse to let you speak to a supervisor.

This company's customer service bears on fradulant, mail fraud (as they send renewal notices thru the mail stating one price, then charge (without authoriztion) credit cards a higher amount,  They are currently collecting artist royalty fees that may not be legal yet, is in dispute, and in excess of the amount stated on the artist royalty web pages that should be charged.

This company needs to be followed by the BBB, Attorney Generals of states where XM offers service, and perhaps the Federal Government for overcharging consumers on a national level.
