XM Satillite Radio XM radio charged me for a multiple plan, when I requested a month/month plan. Washington District of Columbia
WOW. I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble with XM Sirius Satellite Radio! I purchased a new Honda Accord and as a three month trial period, XM radio came with the car. When that trial period was over (about 4/28/09), I called to ask about extending it one month. The service rep tried talking me into a longer contract because it was cheaper than a month by month billing. I told her no that I only wanted to try it for another month, in that I didn't think I was going to be keeping it. (Like everyone else, money is tight.)
So, to my surprise when my credit card bill came in (about 5/22/09), that service rep charged me for multiple month contract, which subsequently caused me to go over my credit limit, and you guessed it, an over the limit' fee appeared.
I then called to cancel my acct. on 5/23/09. The service rep tried her best to maintain me as a customer, offering me all sorts of deal's' ; to which I continued to say NO to. I maintained my position that I didn't authorize that multiple month payment, and I also wanted to be reimbursed for the over the limit fees'. She even had me fax to her, my credit card bill showing that their charge caused me to go over the limit and additional fees. So, I did fax my bill to XM radio as requested.
Fast forward to 5/28/09 I called again, as the credit hasn't been posted to the current credit card billing statement. After waiting for over an hour just to speak with someone about the credit missing from my account, as well as the over the limit fee's, I was then told I had to speak to another rep. and again, another wait of an hour to speak to the next person. I retold my story, and imagine that, it was all in the notes of my account. The only difference is/was the rep stated that I had agreed to extend my contract for three months for FREE. I said, how can it be free, when you've already billed my account for a multiple months????? I tried speaking to a supervisor and that too got me nowhere. He confirmed for me, that the lines are Taped for training purposes and QA. I asked him to pull the tapes' of my two conversations, the one where I requested a ONE MONTH extension, and the one I requested to cancel my acct. Now get this, you will all laugh at this guy He told me I have to hire a lawyer, so that the lawyer can request the taped records of my conversation, in order for me to prove that they are WRONG???? What a joke! He insisted that the account notes, show that I everything I was saying was documented, except, the notes state I agreed to a Free three month extension. I asked him, how could it be FREE when I was already charged for those months? He couldn't answer me this question, because it was all a line of BULLS@##$...
So, in reading on this website, everyone else's problems with this company, I did see one persons' comment, and I too followed their suggestion, I called my credit card company and disputed the amount charged to my account, and because I only would have had a one month charge, then I would not have gone over my credit limit, they are now reimbursing me the over the limit fees because of XM trying to pull a fast one I thank you for such a great website, I've used it often to look up stuff before I make an informed purchase; however, at no time did I think Honda, or XM radio would be on here with the problems that I now see and file this complainant on.
