Xp Antivirus They masqueraded as a ligitimate anti virus company using Windows logo/shield, once antivirus was installed started infecting/rewriting computer info on my windows xp (running with bootcamp on my apple computer) - required stripping and restoring my windows xp data and software. Kept receceiving pop up reports that looked like they were coming from WIndows saying that I had several serious threats to my computer via spyware, viruses, malicious programs. Gave "XP ANATIVIRUS" as a solution. Site was extensive and looked ligitimate right up until you paid with American Express, and ran the scan that showed the programs that were a problem as alleviated. After that there was no receipt generated, The contact number given had a full mailbox , the e-mail contact for help was not returned. I took the computer to be looked at within afew days to see if they could get the program off, as by now I figured out for certain I had screwed up. They said it had already reconfigured info and I would have to restore my computer.
Royal pain. The company did attempt to process the charge. Which showed up later as 50 Euro's. (I reported them as a scam to American express.
