This morning two young men came to my door with a story about needing to sell subscriptions to earn "points" toward a trip to France. They had a slick sales pitch, well polished jokes, and the name of my neighbor whose home they had just left.

They showed me a list of books and magazine subscriptions, all of which were quite overpriced. I chose two of the magazines for my kids, and when they totaled the price it came to $86.00! I figured that it was a bit steep, but it was going to a good cause. I neglected to inquire about why these "students" were out selling at noon on a Wednesday. After they left, I looked at the name of the company on the receipt and googled it. I came upon this site and read all of the testimonials by people who have been ripped off by this company and/or one of it's aliases.

I promptly called my bank and stopped payment on the check. It cost me $33.00 to do that, but I figured that I should pay something for my lack ability to "just say no." I also sent the receipts back to the company in the mail with a signed and dated cancellation request as per their policy.

I appreciate finding this site, because it saved me $53.00 and some headache.

It seems like most of the previous posts were from people in California. I guess the magazine fraud wagons are headed east, and they've stopped in Kentucky.
