The product is supposed to keep the vehicle's paint or finish from fading, among other things, including easier cleaning as nothing can stick to their product. The product was applied professionally by the RV dealership and put on a brand new RV three years ago. The process took one day to prep and apply and cost me $1,000 which was added to the final cost of the RV.

In July 2018 I noticed that there was definite fading in the gel coat on the rear of the RV and I called in a claim. I explained the issue to the claims rep who replied that it was over 60 days from when I noticed the problem, which is incorrect. I actually said that when I took the RV out of storage in May, there was a chalkiness to the surface but it cleaned up okay as I washed the vehicle in preparation for the coming season. In the end of July, when I washed it again, I then noticed a color difference, a fading, in the rear surface from the other sides. I verified this by applying 403, a premium liquid protectant for vinyl and other surface finishes, including gel coat. The 403 brought back most of the color in the gel coat in the areas that I treated showing a significant color difference on the rear surface but barely noticeable on the side surfaces when they were treated. That is when I called in the claim. An adjuster was sent out to evaluate the situation and agreed with me that there has been color fading on the rear surface and I would be contacted by Xzilon for further instructions.

Now it's September, no contact from Xzilon, and I called their customer service number and asked for an update. This is when I heard again that it's been more than 60 days. The product has a 5 year warranty against fading and it's only been 3 years. That has nothing to do with 60 days from any point in time. This is how they weasel out of making good on their warranty coverage.

I have contacted the RV dealership, one of the largest dealers in the country, about this fraudulent practice and recommend they not offer this product anymore.

My next step is to contact my state's Attorney General's office and Consumer Protection Agency.
