Complaint Review: Yacht Exports

Yacht Exports Ocean Trade Lines Scam, Thieves, Liars, Cheaters, Manipulators, Davie, Florida

  • Reported By:
Anonymous Yacht Broker — Seattle Washington United States of America
  • Submitted:

Please beware of the two following companies:
1) Yacht Exports
2) Ocean Trade Lines

They both operate under the same ownership dba known as Global Relogistics.

Their address is: 5337 Orange Drive, Davie FL 33314

Beware of their scam ! They are notorious for taking deposits from innocent customers who want to ship their yachts worldwide and not perform. When a client asks for their money back as a result of Yacht Exports not honoring the terms of their contracts for shipment, they use stalling tactics and intimidation, which results in innocent customers either settling for hefty cancellation fees or losing their money outright.

A few of these clients were personal friends of mine. Please see below the names of major people in the yachting industry who were recently taken advantage of by Yacht Exports and Ocean Trade Lines. Contact them direct so they can share their negative experiences with anyone thinking of doing business with Yacht Exports or Ocean Trade Lines !

I have been a yacht broker for many years and never have seen such a dishonest, arrogant, manipulative shipping company such as Yacht Exports and Ocean Trade Lines. Please beware and save yourself the headache and anguish they would put you through. I urge you not to do business with them. They will take your money and run!

I can absolutely, positively, attest to the fact that Ocean Trade Lines operates a scam operation.  I had to sue them to get them to perform under their onerous contract.  They kept 30% of my money for doing nothing.  If you are stuck by them I recommend a law firm in Ft. Lauderdale Hill Betts, Sharla Manglitz.  She represented me and put the pressure to them.  If you don't believe me, call Sharla at the law firm or Andrew Hill the principal lawyer and let them tell you all about OTL. They also represent other clients who have had the same experience with OTL.  OTL will offer you a price that is better than anyne else, but..... If I had not sued them,I believe that I would never have gotten my money back.

Sharla has recently written an article and published in Multihull Magazine  titled "Maritime Law – Will Your Dream Yacht Ever Arrive?".  It was written while my law suit was in process against Ocean Trade Lines.  The principals are Alon Ezera and Kosta Constant, the sales person is Keith Caprio.  If you speak to any of these people and they tell you anything, it is probably a lie.  I have no problem stating their names as it is all public record.  I had to sue them to get my money refunded.  I even went as far as filing a complaint with the Federal Maritime Commission.  Don't waste your time doing that because OTL will not negotiate with them either.  The FMC does however have some interesting information about OTL.  You will have to file a complaint to get it though.  I do not know about any other company names that they may operate under

To whom it may concern,

The facts in this report are innacurate and the implications are slanderous against Yacht Exports. Yacht Exports and Ocean Trade Lines are not under the same ownership or dba. This information is of course verifiable with the FL Division of Corporations where Yacht Exports is registered.

This report was obviously posted in an effort to tarnish the reputation of Yacht Exports as a successful and reliable NVOCC (Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier) licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission, which is the goverment agency that regulates the Maritime Shipping Industry as well as all maritime business practice. RipoffReport.com does not verify or confirm any of the information posted, nor does it take responsability for the accuracy or consequences of any of the posts.

The list of contacts given include several of our mayor competitors in the yacht shipping industry, such as SevenStar Yacht Transportation and Peters and May Ltd. If they were contacted, as competitors, they would have every reason to attempt to divert potential customers from doing business with us. However, that makes this report nothing more than a propaganda and persuasive narrative to weaken a competitor's reputation. As it is also posted anonymously, we can easily suspect that a competitor or disgruntled broker is involved. While businesses often try to divert customers from their competition, posting defamatory information regarding a competitor is taken very seriously. Yacht Exports continues to mantain a reputation of high level of service and reliability as one of the leading yacht transporters in the industry. These false accusations are frustrating, specially since they seem grounded in unethical business practices associated with our competition. Unless this posting was sanctioned by the representatives of these companies, their names and contact information were used without their permission. Perhaps they will share their opinion on this forum, regarding being listed by name in this libelous and slanderous report. We will be persuing every action legally available to us to prevent such attacks on our reputation.

Meanwhile, if anyone would like to truly confirm our status and reputation, we invite you to verify our license and record with the Federal Maritime Commission. I would also encourage you to call or email me personally at 954.332.7850 or Alon@yachtexports.com, to discuss any concerns you might have. Our website has detailed information regarding the services we provide and our history in the industry. Any calls and business inquires referring to this report are eligible for up to $5000.00 discount for services.

Best Regards,
