Complaint Review: yachtauctions

Yachtauctions.com is the remarketing / selling arm of National Liquidators. They do everything for the maritime lenders from repo to retail. Problem is at least in my two attempts to buy a boat from them they do not allow just anybody with cash in hand to purchase the inventory. As a lender seeking their marketing services I would caution you to first have somebody attempt to purchase a boat and see for yourself……

The first time, about a year ago they had a boat listed I was interested in so I filled out their online contact form and nobody contacted me. I then called in and left a voice mail twice, again no contact. After a couple days of that I called in and said I wasn’t leaving the line until I got to speak with somebody. After the rude conversation I was told the boat was junk and there was a deposit on it and was already being sold. THEN THE BOAT WAS RELISTED for at least three more weeks. I called in during that time it continued to be listed and was told repeatedly I was not able to place a bid to purchase the boat, it was being sold.

A few days ago I saw another “new listing” boat on there website I was interested in, same story, so I decided to share my experience. 

I have no idea if they only want to deal with wholesalers and dealers, individuals that they are already familiar with, or if they are hand selling the inventory, I spent most of my life in vehicle sales, cars and boats. In my educated opinion this is not how an up and up operation treats people trying to make a purchase.

I guess that’s why they are not on eBay or any other legitimate open and transparent auction host site. They are not trying, nor apparently very interested in getting top dollar open market prices for the inventory.

No matter how they reply or rebut, again simply try for yourself before using the service.
