Yahoo! ripoff closes paid account with no explanation Sunnyvale California
I paid for a Yahoo Email Plus account and had it for several years without problem other than receiving loads of spam that was filtered into the junk mail box. One day without notice, my email account had been disabled. After calling customer service (no easy matter), I was notified that I had violated the Terms of Service but they refused to specify what Terms of Service I had violated. After numerous emails and several long telephone calls where I badgered them endlessly, I received a refund on my credit card but Yahoo still refused to specify what grievous violation I had committed.
Fortunately I had a backup email account and I had saved most of my past emails in the MS Outlook folder. Even so, I had to scramble to make notifications and try to recover from Yahoo's malicious actions. It's obvious that Yahoo and other Internet Service Providers need strong government oversight & regulation to force them to provide minimum & ethical standards of consumer service.
If you use Yahoo email, be advised they can cancel your account without notice or explanation. You certainly should avoid using the service for any business purpose.
