Had been please with Yappies until the 3rd visit. They had previously charged me 45.00 to bathe my long haired cat, however on the 3rd visit the charge came to 65.00. I was shocked to say the least, when I asked about this, the clerk said they always charged that for long hair cats, I informed her that this was my 3 rd trip and it was always 45.00, she conveinently could not find any record or history of me/pet ever being there.

I told her that I had, and to prove it to her, I reminded her of the report cards they used to give to the customer about the behavior of the pet during the process, she said, that the owner had increased the prices effective January 2001. I told her what a ripoff it was to increase a bath by 20.00 bucks. I asked for the manager, he was not in, so she said, I left my name and number for him to call, he never did, so I called 3 times asking for him and left a detailed message as to why I was calling.

Never heard back and believe me, I know a lot of people and they will never use them either. Remember, dissatisfied customers have a dominino effect when it comes to spreading the word of businesses that rip off people.

I just want to comment on the increase in the price for the cat's bath....I am in no way taking sides, just giving my honest opinion as a Proffessional Pet Groomer (now in the bus. for 13 years)

It is sad that all have to suffer for a few bad seeds......

The fact remains that cats can be lethal .......

Cat Scratch fever is a very serious condition......

Did you know that a cat has "venom" in their saliva and can make a handler very sick.....

I myself do a very few good kitty's, but even the nicest kitty can turn into a fierce tiger at a hearts notice....

I know of several groomers who have now started charging out-ragious prices for kitty's, not that they want the money, in fact the opposite, they are trying to discourage people from bringing them ......

I know we don't like to have our pets sedated, but isn't it better to know that a licensed veterinarian (instead of a groomer) has done the sedation, the kitty is at ease and not stressed.
I have seen nice little babies climb walls, set there teeth into my arms, adhere there claws to the scalp of my helper, go into shock because of the stress....

Like I said, I don't know this groomer, but I do Know from experience that this job is not always a bed of roses, and most of us are severely underpaid and unnappreciated for what we truly put up with.......

If I had a dollar for every time someone came in with a little angel and I ended up getting maulled, I would be retired and living in Jamaica instead of surfing the net and putting in 6 days a week......
