In 2006 and 2007 we worked with Mr. Un Sub Kwon of the YE-IL International Company (Peal Guitars) to design and produce custom jazz guitars for us.  We had obtained over three dozen Peal guitars from him in the past and were very happy with the quality of his instruments as well as their value so we were very excited about the prospects of Peal crafting beautiful custom instruments for us. In addition, our guitar parts business was beginning to run low on our most popular hardware and we knew that Peal carried those very parts in their official catalog. We naturally decided to have them provide us with both the custom guitars and the parts.  We sent Mr. Kwon a transfer payment $1,000 deposit in December 2006 after we ironed out the specifications for the guitars and then mailed him seven Kent Armstrong pickups (a wholesale value of over $330) to use on our instruments in April 2007.  Finally, in December 2007, we received word from Mr. Kwon that our guitars and parts were ready to ship and that he required the remainder of the funds prior to shipment.  We then transferred over $3,500 in order to pay in full but were then informed by Mr. Kwon that the production of our guitars had actually not yet been completed but they were nearing completion and would be shipped within just two weeks.  It is now December 2009 and, to date, we have only received approximately $370 worth of parts out of an order of almost $5,000.  The only reason we even received those parts is because we got the Korean Consulate and the business association we originally found Peal through (KITA) who contacted Mr. Kwon on our behalf but have since failed to reply to any of our inquiries.  As late as August 2009 we even went back and forth with Mr. Kwon, bent over backwards and agreed to take shipment of several other models of guitars (which we would have been lucky to even break even on) in lieu of the parts (which we had many loyal customers for consistently made a profity selling) and the custom jazz guitars we ordered but Mr. Kwon was clearly just stringing us along and never intended to complete our order. We are now out of parts and out of money and what was once a successful parts business has now dried up as our loyal customers have clearly gone elsewhere.  Mr. Kwon is a criminal and should be treated as such (we have gathered all our evidence and are ready to file a commercial crime complaint with our local police department).  We are very sorry that we did not post this sooner, it may have even saved Peter of Pittsburgh $1,700.
