Complaint Review: Yellow Book

I had a one year contract with Yellow book. I received a call at the end of the year from a Yellow Book Rep who asked if I want to continue my next year with the same ad or make changes. I told her that I did not want to continue the ads at all since I had not received any calls at all for the past year from the Yellow Book ads either in the book or online. She said alright, she would not renew the adds and that was the end of her call. She did have my account number. I just received a bill today from Yellow Book for one month of interline ads.

I called to ask what this was for and they said that it didn't matter if one of their reps called and I told them to cancel, they had to have it in writting and I still owe them not only the $40 but the additional $3.00 "billing cahrge"!!! I told them I would send them a letter first thing in the morning but I cancelled the account and would not pay for this rip off ad that they authorized without my consent. They said that I "had to pay". If this isn't a rip off scam I have never seen one. Beware of signing anything with Yellow Book. Stick with the (((competitor's name redacted))) at least they are honest.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
