Business owners: Fraudulent telephone book advertising and unethical collection company. Have you gotten hooked by the latest scam? If your company is like mine which get hundreds of checks being deposited, you probably have a person in the office stamping the checks coming in the mail and preparing them for deposit. Yellow Pages, Inc. has a great scam. They wrtie a check for a small amount, they create a name and logo similar to Yellow Book, and an almost identical logo. They target the advertisers in Yellow Book (who has ever seen their book, I certainly haven't.) They don't even bother to get the name or category of your business correct, they just get a computer pullup, for example, they have my degree as my first name.... its quite ridiculous. Then they give the check an odd amount, $3.49. My office, naturally thinks its the end of the year, and its an account refund from Yellow Book. They check gets deposited. My office never notices the small print under the check saying that if you deposit it you agree to owe $185.77 for advertising you never consented to, for advertising a name which isn't yours nor your business's name. Then, they, Yellow Pages does not allow you to speak to a person regarding your fradulent bill. They send it to another company in cohouts with them, CRF Solutions (Continental Recovery and Filing Solutions. They tell you to appeal, then say your appeal is not valid, since I admit it was deposited. They then get ridiculing, and hang up on you for being the fool to deposit the check.

The phone lines of both companies both are experiencing: "extremely high call volumes". The voice mail of Yellow Pages, Inc. even indicates what extension to push if you are calling about an invoice", so that means there are tons of folks mad as heck out there, just like me, otherwise they would all just pay the bill, instead of calling about the invoice!!

I am calling a lawyer.
Some ploys are just too sickening to tolerate.
