Yellow Pages Directories Just got my new business phone number and got a final notice letter for directory listing Carrollton, Texas
I just opened my new business and had my phone hooked up and got a letter in the mail with final notice at the top to be listed in the directory. I thought it was from my local yellow pages and faxed it in and got a call back from Robert. He took my credit card info and said I would also be listed on the top spot on the internet and have a bold listing in the directory, they have taken two payments out of my account for 99.33 and I didn't think anything of it still thinking it was for my local yellow pages. It wasn't until a representative from my local book came in for advertizing that I figured out that I had been scammed.
I immediately called and was informed that their logo ( square yellow box with the fingers doing the walking on the phone book) was usable for anybody. They said I wasn't scammed and had to make the final payment of 99.34 before they could cancel and send me a conformation letter because I had to pay for the services already rendered. I told him that they misrepresented themselves to me and in the 40 years I had lived in this area that I had never recieved a Yellow Pages National Directory that is listed in the fine print on the back of their final notice. He said it is in fact distributed in my area and didn't know why in 40 years I never got one. Turn the Final Notice over and read the fine print everybody!! My local phone directory guy said that there is alot of this type of thing out there and a ligit company would come into your store personally.
