Yellow Pages Group Christine Sylvain, Yellow Pages Group Does unprofessional advertising for businesses. Has uninvited pushy solicitors that contact you via phone at your place of business to try and trap you into a verbal contract over the phone. Falsifies your advertising without your authorization or knowledge and places it on the internet. Does not follow explicit instructions written or verbal. Has little or no custom service you are just forwarded to their suspious legal department where you get the run around & concerns fall on deaf ears. I was contacted at my place of business by a Yellow Pages Group solicitor leaving a message to call him, all he left was his name not what he wanted or what it was concerning to call him back. I explained to him that I wasn't interested, I don't advertise, I am too busy and don't need advertising. The Supreme Court of B.C. has deamed Canine teeth cleaning is legal in B.C. Canada by animal care providers, you don't have to be a veterinarian, but there is a very strict advertisig criteria that must be followed such as any wording falsely representing yourself to mislead the public that you are a Doctor in Dentistry or Veterinary Dentistry because that is false representation and the vet. assoc. has and will take individuals to court. I expressed this and had put in writting via e-mail and phone if I was to ever consider doing advertising, "nothing was to represent my business unless I authorized it. I even got into an argument about this in the beginning because I thought he had gone a head and already put up advertising without my consent. He assured me it would never happen. After stating this in writting via e-mail and verbal over the phone, I agreed to advertise with the Yellow Pages group and in good faith I paid them a first month installment before any advertising was to go up. To my mortifcation I saw the advertising when you google my business. Yellow Pages has taken it upon themselves without my knowledge edit and insert things into my original advertising which was not authorized such as I was "A Doggie Dentist Destination" to my advertising without my knowledge or consent and it was now on the internet. When I contacted the representative that I had dealt with I was basicly told he didn't do it and it was live there was nothing he could do about it now, and he forwarded me to his legal department, which I found quite odd because there is no customer complaints department or service centre. Customer satisfaction is not a concern with the Yellow Pages Group. It was taken down, but it took them approx. two days, that was to take the Doggie Dentist Destination wording off my advertising. I then found they had inserted other wording in my original advertising that I had not approved. It was a nightmare, I couldn't believe it. If I hadn't checked it right away when it went up, it could still be there. The sales rep. that originally contacted me from the very beginning was no where to be found after this all went up on the internet. It was very frustrating.
The funny thing is I hadn't signed a thing, given them any form of payment such as credit card, bank authorization etc. Then after my husband and I spoke to different people in Yellow Pages Group suspious legal department and told them to shut it all down after what they had done. They didn't nor did they try to compensate us. They have had the audacity to invoice me every month since then for the last 4 months with threatening letters and sending me a letter from there Collection lawyer "Francois Sauvageau" who is registered in your ripoff registery already. The very same lawyer that is the Yellow Pages Group's collection lawyer.
