Complaint Review: YMCA Camp Fuller

I am filing this ripoff report against YMCA CAMP FULLER, WAKEFIELD RHODE ISLAND. I began to work at this camp summer of 2010. The first thing that i noticed was that i was one of two african american staff at that camp. The other lady was a international hire.She was fired about a week before the kids arrived for personal reasons.  In 2011 i was once again one of two african americans hired. Once again the other lady was a international hire.  As a employee of this camp we had to follow certain rules like: curfew 12:30, had to sign in and out everytime we left the camp, cigerette breaks had to be taken outside of camp fuller property.Kitchen staff had to follow these rules as well, but we were often excluded from the other employees activities.

In 2011 i was written up for  arriving late on june 20th.  Written up for taking a cigerette break 1 minute after curfew. I Worked overtime and was never paid time and a half. Although it is clearly stated in the handbook. ALL EMPLOYEES ARE TO RECIEVE TIME AND A HALF FOR ANY OVERTIME HOURS.  I was also forced to account for 30 min breaks in 4 hour shifts that i never took. Also worked more then the required 80 hours due to the fact that i was scheduled more then 80 hours.
I was not allowed to do alot of cooking due to the fact that my boss, a 55-60 year old man held personal grudges.  There was several dishwashers that worked with us, that did alot more cooking then i did. This old man  was the same man that did not turn in my last time card, so i did not recieve  my last paycheck on the usual payday. I only got paid due to the fact that a friend of mine found my timecard and personally handed it in.  I often felt mistreated at that job due to the color of my skin.  I am filing this report to recieve the money that i worked for and to inform everyone that the summer camps your kids go to, the staff is not as happy and joyful as they seem
