YMCA of Anderson, IN is a dishonest place to work and they are also very cheap with their pay. I took a part time position with the Anderson, IN YMCA basically to pay for my membership there. Things were going ok for awhile. I made my own hours and came and went as I pleased. My job was to update the membership database. I put in anywhere from 10-20 hrs per week to accomplish this. People are constantly signing up for different programs at the Y and the record keeping is a nightmare. I had records going back 3 years ago that had not been entered into their old wheezy antiquated computer system. We're talking a piece of crap company program that resembled something from the 1980's that rarely worked anyhow.

I was hired by and reported only to the Executive Director, Dan Sager. I worked for the Y about six months. About 5 months into the gig, Dan called me into his office one day and told me that I had to cut back my hours as the Y was having problems meeting payroll. I work for myself anyhow so I agreed to the cut. Then 2 weeks later Dan again contacts me to tell me that I'm not getting enough done. Well DUH! He made me cut back my hours, so of COURSE I'm not going to be as productive.

Then the next thing I know I'm being FIRED for looking at porn on the internet and not being productive enough for their standards. (All lies by the way). Dan even wanted me to sign some dumbass exit interview chock full of this stupidity. I told him no, I wasn't signing anything. So I got canned for nothing. The stupid Y can't even follow their own policy on firing people. You're supposed to get written up on disciplinary charges and everything is supposed to documented about the nature of charges and corrective action to be taken.

None of this ever happened with me though. Dan wrote up a bunch of bs on my "Exit Interview" which made it fairly obvious he was covering his butt just in case I decided to sue him, which I am considering. Any attorney types out there who are willing to work for a piece of a settlement, proceed to the head of the line.

Thanks for allowing me to get this off my chest. I'm starting to feel better already.
