I have a Raymond Weil-Parsifal watch that needed a new battery and so I went to a Watch Repair Kiosk in the mall by my office.

After looking at the watch, I heard Pawan (the salesman/repairman) say that will be $17.99.  I said OK.  Then I gave him another cheap watch to remove links from for my daughter (she is 9) and the watch probably cost $20.  He said he could remove the links and the cost would be $14.99.  I thought it was high but agreed cause I was in a hurry.

He said it would be a half hour.  I said I didn't have time to wait cause I was on my lunch break and needed to get back to work.  He said he would have it done in 15 minutes.

I waited.  When he rung it up, he said the cost was $102.82.  I said WHAT?!  He said The Raymond Weil Battery was $79.99.  I said that is crazy.  I thought you said $17.99.  He said no and that if I sent the watch to Raymond Weil, they would charge me over a $100 and it would take 4-6 weeks to get it back.

He also said that another woman with a Concord watch complained about the cost of her battery and she told him to take it out and he said it would cost her another $40 to remove it!

I left and called a well known jeweler - Bella Cosa.  They said they charge between $10 and $15 for a Raymond Weil watch battery!

I plan to call him and have my husband go with me to get my money back!  We will see what happens!

SO FURIOUS that I was ripped off like that!
