Complaint Review: YPedia.com

YPedia.com Yellow Pages Online Misleading Company Coppell Texas

I received a notification in the mail that read "THIS IS NOT A BILL" in bold, stating that my company needed to mail in updated information for a Yellow Pages Online listing. I then received a bill shortly thereafter for $329. When I called and spoke with the company I asked them why I received this bill and that the notification I received in the mail didn't mention a $329 charge.

I then told them that I looked on Yellow Pages Online and that we were not listed. They explained to me that they are Ypedia.com "Yellow Pages for the Digital Ages". I have never heard of this website and the bill mislead me to believe the listing was for Google, Yellow Pages Online, etc. Our listing on Ypedia is not going to be useful to us and I asked for a refund. They explained that we could not get a refund and that we were subscribed for six months.

I just want this bill waived and for our listing to be removed, as this is a completely useless marketing company to us and very misleading. I found that the representatives working with YPedia have no interest in helping me with this.

YPedia Has Taken Care of Issue

YPedia promptly contacted me regarding my complaint here on RipoffReport and has waived my invoice and removed my listing from their site.

I also requested a copy of the form that I mailed in to verify whether the $329 semi-annual fee was mentioned on it, and it indeed was. I hadn't noticed due to the fact that the the fee was listed under "Terms and Conditions" on the back of the form so I missed it.

I do feel the form should be a bit more upfront to prevent further confusion from customers in the future, but I also now know I need to make sure I'm reading the fine print! I do appreciate though that they have promptly waived the fee for me and removed the listing.
