Complaint Review: Z-tel Communications

Z-tel Communications False promises mistreated and ripped off! over 2 years of billing only had the service for 10 days!! Tampa Florida

In sum, I had Z-tel's phone services for 10 days (January 28, 2000 - February 6, 2000)and was very dissatisfied for many reasons. So, I switched back to Southwestern Bell.

I only had Z-tel's services for 10 days total. Yet, I continued to be billed. So, I took the logical steps to stop the incorrect billing. I called to make sure they knew my service was cancelled first. More bills. I faxed a letter to the Research Billing Dept stating my dates of service with Z-tel and providing them proof of the transfer back to SW Bell. I was told it would be taken care of.

To make a long story short, it is now May 31, 2002 and a recent credit report shows that I still owe Z-tel $780.00!!! So, I called Z-tel again today.... furious of course. They have all the notes on my account showing I had called, faxed, etc., yet they still show that I am a customer with Z-tel! Supposedly, a manager will get back to me after he has "researched it further"... what is there to research??? They have never gotten back to me in the past, so I assume they won't this time either. I need this taken off my credit report, but don't know what else to do! Help!
