My son, an officer in the US Air Force, stationed in Korea, ordered a wine cooler for me, his dad, as a birthday present.  The order was placed in January 2010, and after four weeks of waiting, I began to investigate.  The email invoice said the item was shipped via UPS, but there was no tracking number.  That raised a red flag in my mind.

I searched the web site only to find there is no telephone number, no mailing address, and no readily available email address (when you click on 'contact us' you get a virtually blank screen.)  I searched further and eventually found an email address in an obscure portion of the site, and sent inquiries once a day.  The emails did not bounce.  But there was no reply to them either.  More red flags.  I forwarded these findings to my son, and he was in denial, he said let's wait a week.

That's when I discovered www.ripoffreport.com and other sites like it, and it was becoming apparent that z9electronics was a scam, and many customers never received their items.  Once I forwarded this to my son, he saw the light and realized he had been ripped off.  So now, on top of 16 hour workdays serving his country, he has to fight to get his money refunded to his credit card account.  Meanwhile, I've found the same wine cooler at more reputable sites.

My advice to anyone buying merchandise via the internet, buy from reputable sites like Amazon.com or Buy.com, or else make sure the merchant lists phone number, address and email address along with policies for missing or damaged shipments.
