Zaccardi's of Scarsdale won't replace defective/dangerous item Scarsdale, New York
In November of 2010, I ordered 2 Bellman stovetop milk steamer/espresso makers - $80 each. Both Christmas gifts for daughters. Zaccardi's said they were sending free coffee to go with it (never sent them). One steamer worked fine, one steamer blew up, nearly injuring grandchildren in the kitchen at that time. I notified Zaccardi's and they said, "send it back for inspection" which would have cost me minimum $10 in shipping. I asked them to send the replacement first. They refused, then said the time for returning merchandize had passed (even though it was a Christmas gift bought ahead of time). Finally, I analyzed the defect, found it was the relief valve and asked them to send me a relief valve. They sent response: too late, warranty expired. I pursued. Zaccardi's said, contact another company for replacement. I ordered the part from Fante's, paid less than $10 and it works just fine. I would recommend dealing with Fante's and never with Zaccardi's.
