My mom saw an ad on TV for Crouse and Associates P.C. foreclosure defense and loan modification, so she called the number.

They told her they would contact my mortgage holder, and assign a local attorney to her case. All she had to pay was $1,000 to retain their services, and then just $550 for 3 months. She was told that 4 month was the typical time span for a loan modification on a mortgage.

I helped my mom email and fax numerous documents, proof of income, bank statements, disclousures, agreements, etc., for the first 3 months.

Then, all of a sudden, their "managing attorney," Crouse, "left" the firm. So the company was now Zeh and Associates P.C.

I called and asked if this meant that all the previous fees paid would have to be paid again, or if we needed to pay more, and we were told "no", the previous agreed amounts were still the same. Great.

By the end of the third month, there was still no assigned attorney for my mom's case, and it was time for her to pay the final fees. I was still faxing and emailing tons of info, but I was becoming more and more skeptical. Whenever I called to speak to someone, some new person would answer the phone "Law Office," and I would say "what office is this??" then they would say "Zeh and Associates..."

When I would ask for our case worker, they would say that person wasn't available and transfer me to someone else. And the same thing over and over. When I would ask why Crouse left or why we still didn't have an attorney, they became agitated and rude.

Then like a bad dream, my mom was told that since the company was now Zeh, the previous contract didn't stand and she was going to have to pay $550 every month until her case was resolved.

Of course.

When she argued, they claimed that none of what she said was ever said, etc.

You get the picture.

These folks are full of s***, and my mom is out of $3000

I tried to talk my mom out of getting started with them in the first place. But of course these people target old people. Protect yourself and your families.

There is no guarantee in hiring an Attorney in any scenario. That would encompass anything from a speeding ticket, a divorce, up to and including a murder trial. Especially one that requires a large amount of communication and participation from the client(s) involved. It's hard to rebut any specific case or client when it's written from someone other than the actual client. As you can see there are no names stated, so it's impossible for us to actually review the file to address the facts. One thing most can appreciate is that Attorney's only deal strictly with facts, not emotions, opinions or anything as such. If you closely read the alleged complaint, it says things like her case, my mortgage etc. Why would the office be calling her mortgage if her mother is the one who needs assistance? Came time to pay the final fees...again, not sure what that even means or the context in which she tried to present it in. There are no such things as final fees unless the case is closed. If in fact we did get a resolution for this client and there were final fees owed, then it appears we did our job and this client is unhappy with the results they received. Clients are made aware prior to hiring us that the majority of this resolution is determined by the things they did in the past, not things we did. Things like lack of communication, not paying their mortgage, avoiding the letters, calls etc. None of which we were involved in. That being said, even the report that is filed on here is not accurate. It is exactly like the scenario that we fight everyday. It's everyone's fault but the person who is directly in control of the situation.

Let's set aside the fact that we had 2,422 clients last year alone and not a single report on this site. That in itself speaks higher than any rant and rave from a non-client that won't identify themselves. We'd be more than happy to address this issue if it's communicated properly. Thank you.
