You're a real estate agent looking at this report to figure out if you should team up with Zillow to be a Premier Agent with them OR how to get out of your ridiculous, deceptive contract with them. Here's the scam - You contact them (or vice versa) to see about advertising to get in front of millions of home buyers just waiting to buy homes.  They sell IMPRESSIONS on their site by the zip code. They tell you how many visitors that zip code has per month and the average dollar value of the sold homes and the number of sales per month (The latter two is information obtained by the local MLSs link to ListHub). Next, they tell you, you will OWN "X" percentage of that zip code for "X" Dollars shared with 2 other Realtors so each will own 33.3% of that zip code market or a tiny fraction of it if they're trying to gouge agents in that area....  past and present advertisers, sound familiar? OR Zillow will tell you that the zip code is sold out and you can be put on a special waiting list and If you have current, advertising with them, you will get first dibs when the zipcode "opens up"! The asking amount for the zip code is based on a special formula of the above 3 criteria to come up with a HUGE advertising dollar amount.  When you rebut the price, Zillow will tell you, you have to take a minimum number of impressions to qualify or you can't be a Zillow Premier Agent. Do NOT advertIse wIth them perIod. You wIll regret It. ..For the year that I advertise with them I got numerous false leads. They were either clicks from other Realtors or fictitious leads from a company that they outsource to bombard their premier agents with false info. I'd say 93% of my leads were fake buyers, 4% were from buyers already under contract with another agent looking for someone to open up a door and 3% were supposedly potential listings, but when you contacted these people you found out they were actually lack luster renters looking for an agent to find them a place or the people did not own the property at all ! Zillow constantly marketed me to buy more and more ads that weren't working. They told me to bring on lenders to subsidize the cost. Read your contract, send an email to the Showcase Termination email address and cancel your credit card because Zillow will act like they didn't get your email. Also, don't bother talking to the "success coach" that will call you before your contract is up. Their sole purpose is to extend your contract by giving you a zipcode for 99% discount and to waste your time taking Zillow classes. Its ALL BS.
