I am writing to formally report a concerning issue I have encountered with Zillow Rental Manager, which I believe may constitute unfair and deceptive practices.

 

On 7/21/24, I listed my rental property on Zillow Rental Manager and successfully secured a tenant on 8/18/24. The lease was signed, and payment arrangements were set up through Zillow's platform. The tenant made the first payment of $3,135.60 via the platform. However, immediately after this payment was processed, my account was inexplicably disabled without prior notice or explanation.

 

Since the account was disabled, Zillow Rental Manager has been holding the payment, and I have been unable to access these funds. I have attempted to contact Zillow's support team multiple times through their ticketing system, but my support tickets have either been closed without resolution or have gone unanswered entirely. The only communication I received was an email requesting supporting documents, which I provided on the same day. Despite complying with this request, I have received no further updates or feedback.

 

This situation is extremely concerning as it suggests that Zillow may be using its platform to inappropriately withhold funds. This not only impacts my ability to manage my rental property effectively but also raises questions about Zillow’s business practices and whether they are holding onto funds to generate income improperly.

 

I kindly request your attention to Zillow Rental Manager for potential violations of consumer protection laws. Their lack of communication, failure to resolve issues, and the holding of my payment without justification are deeply troubling and could indicate broader systemic issues that may affect other users of the platform.
