Do Not buy a car from Zimmer Motors (Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram) in Florence., KY on Burlington Pike. They are out for every last dime and will even tell you so.

We purchased a used car and they promised to fix an internal trunk latch so we didn’t write it on the “We Owe” because it seemed simple - but did write it on another paper when we financed, thinking that would be good enough for them to keep their word.

We took delivery without it being fixed (with no explanation) because it was Friday night (and they were already 2 days late on the new tires).  The salesperson said they would follow up first thing today to make it right. About 2:30 I heard nothing and followed up to get it fixed. The salesperson played stupid then DENIED saying that it would be an easy fix and the sales MANAGER flat out told us they didn’t make enough profit on our car to fix it for us!!! He also said that the other paper we wrote on about it getting fixed was worthless from a legal standpoint. How about that for customer care?  Everyone from the salesperson to her manager to even the finance guy who's been there 24 years is CROOKED.

So now we are stuck with an internal cargo latch that is jammed shut and we have to get it fixed on our dime. This is the kind of Integrity that you’ll get from Zimmer motors. Don’t take their word on ANYTHING. Go somewhere else.

That's not how this works

It's not that simple - we put the fix in a document in finance, in writing, just not the "we owe".  When we took the car for a test drive, they claimed they didn't know about the stuck cargo latch - it's not like they said they knew about it and chose to ignore.  We were told multiple times that it would be fixed, by multiple people. Integrity is supposed to matter. That's my entire point of this thread.  Other places don't do this when something is in writing but not on the "correct" document.  Don't shop at Zimmer.

It's very simple. Never sign a contract for a car until it is delivered to you in the condition you want it to be in. If they wanted to fix that latch, they would have fixed it before they put the car out on the lot. If they intended to actually keep their "promises", they would have put them in the contract.

After all, that's the entire point of a contract -- to set out what each side promises to do. A written contract always overrides any verbal agreements. Whenever a salesman promises you something, make them show you the corresponding part of the contract.
